DOSBOX is a great dos emulator for Windows enabling you to play those classics of yesteryear:
DOSBox-X (2017/12/08) is released. DOSBox-x is a branch of DOSBox v0.74. DOSBox emulates an Intel x86 PC, complete with sound, graphics, mouse, joystick, modem, etc., necessary for running many old MS-DOS games that simply cannot be run on modern PCs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and FreeBSD.
DOSBox-X Changelog:
-Rather than try to maintain two branches separately, this release marks the unification of the code in a form that can compile to SDL 1.x or SDL 2.x.
-The Visual Studio 2017 project files now reflect this dual support on Windows as well.
-This may have broken a few things.
-This reflects short term dual support, and long term deprecation of SDL 1.x support.

Heres a new verion of the multi arcade game supporting emulator, heres whats new:
FB Alpha SP v0.2.99.7 is released. FB Alpha or FBA as it is commonly known is an emulator of arcade games, that is, it takes the program code, graphics data, etc., from an original arcade game and emulates the hardware to make the game run in it's original form. As far as the game is concerned it is running in it's original cabinet.
FB Alpha is an open-source project and it is programmed by a group of people known as the FBA Team. Over the years this has comprised of myself, Jan_Klaassen, KEV, LoopMaster, Mike Haggar, Hyper Yagami and Ayeye. FB Alpha is based on the original FinalBurn by Dave.

Heres a new version of the program thats used to make the like of MAME more simpler, heres the release notes:
Emu Loader v8.3.5 is released. Emu Loader was created to manage an arcade games emulator called M.A.M.E. With this frontend, you can change practically any option that is available in the emulator, like the screen resolution, sound quality, game options, etc. There are lots of extra features that makes your life much more easier, like the snapshots viewer where all captured images from M.A.M.E. games can be viewed when selecting games.

Anyone whos old enough to know about Dos will know the fun of getting games working in it, heres a new version of DOSbox for PC:
DOSBox-X (2017/12/05) is released. DOSBox-x is a branch of DOSBox v0.74. DOSBox emulates an Intel x86 PC, complete with sound, graphics, mouse, joystick, modem, etc., necessary for running many old MS-DOS games that simply cannot be run on modern PCs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and FreeBSD.
DOSBox-X Changelog:
* Fixed OpenGL output crash when first starting DOSBox-X on Windows
* "Aspect Correction" menu item fixed on Windows. Selecting it now actually changes aspect ratio state.
* PC-98 EGC ROPs and bit shifter added. Not all ROPs, but enough for some games to run.
* PC-98 emulation of the GDC 2.5MHz/5MHz DIP switch. Some games require the GDC to run at 5MHz (and some refuse to run unless at 2.5MHz). For extra convenience not only is this setting in dosbox.conf but also available at runtime through PC98UTIL.COM from the Z:\ drive.

WinUAE v3.6.0 Beta 9 is released. WinUAE is the commodore amiga emulator for Windows. WinUAE is a mostly complete software emulation of the hardware of the Commodore Amiga 500/1000/2000. A Commodore Amiga, for those who don’t know, is a 16/32 bit computer system based on the Motorola 680×0 CPU and a few specially designed custom chips that provide very good graphics and sound capabilities. Its first incarnation, the A1000, appeared in 1985, followed by the highly successful A500 and A2000 models. WinUAE is a port of the originally written for Unixish systems UAE; but over time, it seems the Windows port, WinUAE has become the best version available on any platform. WinUAE is free software: you are welcome to distribute copies of it and/or modify it, under certain conditions. There is no warranty of any kind for UAE. Mame the arcade emulator for windows has seen a new release, heres the release info:
Even if you’re still feeling burned from Singles’ Day, Thanksgiving, and/or Black Friday, MAME 0.192 is here, and there’s plenty packed into this update. At long last, the MCU for Ping Pong King is simulated, making the game playable, and Flower now runs better than it ever did. Taito’s abstract maze game Marine Date is also emulated better than ever, although there are still some issues with collision detection. We’ve got newly dumped prototypes, including a prototype of Battlecry, and a more complete version of Grudge Match that appears to come from a location test in Italy. Many of the Aristocrat MK5 gambling machines have been redumped so the ROM checksums pass and they boot. Missing graphics in the Merit Megatouch games have been fixed.
But we know that rumours about the next part of this announcement have made lots of arcade fans excited: IGS PGM2 software is showing signs of life. I’m sure at least some of you are wondering how this was achieved. Usual suspects Morten Shearman Kirkegaard and Peter Wilhelmsen (recently featured here in connection to their success in dumping Gaelco protection programs) have built another FPGA-based rig that allowed them to dump the internal programs from the ARM CPUs for Oriental Legend 2 and Knights of Valour 2 New Legend. On top of this, there are some nice performance improvements to MAME’s MPEG audio decoding that should benefit other systems as well.
In computer system emulation, we’ve got a number of graphical fixes for FM Towns, heaps of improvements for the Tatung Einstein, No-Slot Clock support for the Apple //e family, and support for some Brazilian CoCo clones from Prológica and Codimex. There are some big updates to the PC software lists, too. The ACI Destiny Prodigy, Mephisto RISC 1MB and Mephisto RISC II chess computers are now working. Finally, the Interpro drivers have numerous improvements, including preliminary keyboard/video support.
