Heres a new NES Emulator for Windows:

Pinky is released. This is an NES emulator written in Rust completely from scratch purely based on publicly available documentation.

Controls are Z and X for A and B, Enter and Right Shift for Start and Select, and the arrow keys!

Features
* Accurate-ish (cycle accurate) 6502, PPU and APU emulation.
* A testsuite based on test ROMs.
* A PPU testsuite automatically generated from a transistor-level simulation of a real PPU.
* Supports NROM (0), MMC1 (1) and UxROM (2) mappers.
* Can be compiled as a libretro core.

There are still many things missing, including:
* Unofficial 6502 instructions support.
* Support for other mappers.
* Accurate PPU sprite overflow.
* Savestate support.
* PAL support.

Currently this is not a production quality emulator, though whatever games it can play (due to limited mapper support) it can play quite well (e.g. such games as Super Mario Brothers, Donkey Kong or Tetris; you can check out nesmapper.txt which will tell you which game use which mapper).

Not heard of this emulator before but it supports a lot of systems, heres the release news:

vdmgr v0.1.8 is released. vdmgr is a multi-system emulator that emulates the NES, NeoGeo Pocket, Sega SG-1000 / Mark III, MCS BASIC-52, TD 4, GMC-4, Z80 computers and MSX.

vdmgr v0.1.8 changelog:
Fixed that bank of ROM was initialized when RAM / ROM of SGM was switched.
Fixed that SGM extended RAM was not initialized.

FB Alpha SP v0.2.99.9

The arcade emulator has been updated again, heres whats new:

FB Alpha SP v0.2.99.9 is released. FB Alpha or FBA as it is commonly known is an emulator of arcade games, that is, it takes the program code, graphics data, etc., from an original arcade game and emulates the hardware to make the game run in it's original form. As far as the game is concerned it is running in it's original cabinet.

FB Alpha is an open-source project and it is programmed by a group of people known as the FBA Team. Over the years this has comprised of myself, Jan_Klaassen, KEV, LoopMaster, Mike Haggar, Hyper Yagami and Ayeye. FB Alpha is based on the original FinalBurn by Dave.

FB Alpha SP v0.2.99.9 changelog:

– changed default display colour profile to sRGB

changes in 0.2.99.8:
– fix resizing window to smaller than original image size in dx9 blitter with multipass effects
– fix dx9 blitter SM1.4 shader support (only used for SM1.4 level hardware)
– enable dx9 blitter compatibility for legacy gpu support (AKA SM1.4 shaders compiled as SM2.0)
– add high performance version of overlay shader (used in combination with legacy gpu shaders)

Pantheon v6.598

Heres a curious release of an app that has loads of games for consoles and more, heres the release news:

Pantheon v6.598 is released. Pantheon is Windows desktop application with collection of games for video consoles and home computers from the past. The games are not the part of the application, instead they will be downloaded (with the game manual or review - if available) from the internet, after you activate the game. Downloaded files are stored on the local file system and will be available offline the next time you wish to play the game. Finally, the program file is loaded into the memory and executed inside the emulator. Current version has emulator of Atari 2600 with collection of 170 games, emulator of Atari 5200 with collection of 50 games and emulator of Atari 8-bit computers with collection of 26 games.

Pantheon is still in development, new features and games are added almost every day. But you may experience occasional artifacts or crashes during the gameplay, and game snapshots may not be available in the following releases.

The Dos Emulator for Windows has had another update, heres the release notes:

DOSBox-X (2017/12/29) is released. DOSBox-x is a branch of DOSBox v0.74. DOSBox emulates an Intel x86 PC, complete with sound, graphics, mouse, joystick, modem, etc., necessary for running many old MS-DOS games that simply cannot be run on modern PCs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and FreeBSD.

Removed non-recursive page fault option, it is always "on" now
Removed dynamic x86 core, 32-bit builds no longer have "dynamic" core
IRQ cascade cleanup and fixes
BAT files given on DOSBox-X executable command line (from your host operating system) are now processed after registration of ULTRASND and BLASTER environment variables
PC-98 DOS console emulation updated to decode Shift-JIS in CON driver instead of INT 10h hackaround
PC-98 DOS console emulation fixed to recognize certain double-byte encodings that yield single-wide characters and print appropriately (including a range of proprietary JIS codes specific to the PC-98 that include box/line drawing characters).
DOSBox shell welcome text fixed to display a proper box using box/line characters in PC-98 mode, instead of letting the IBM PC charset draw rows and columns of katakana. (basic2004)

Mame 0.193

A late xmas pressie from the MAME team comes with a new release of the best arcade emulator on the planet, heres the release news:

Multiple arcade machine emulator for Windows has been updated. Changes:
It’s a bit late for Christmas, but MAME 0.193 is ready today. First of all, let’s get the disclaimers out of the way. We’ve switched to GCC 7 for Windows binaries, and started requiring SSE 2 (Pentium 4, Opteron, Athlon 64, or equivalent) for 32-bit Windows binaries. In the unlikely event that either of these changes causes issues for your use case, you’ll have to build from source. There’s currently an issue with overlay artwork not being displayed when using bgfx video output. Unfortunately we haven’t been able to address this in time for the release. As a workaround, we recommend using Direct3D or OpenGL video output for systems that use overlay artwork (this includes many handheld/tabletop games, Space Invaders, and the Vectrex console). You can track progress on this issue at MAME Testers.

And now, the stuff you’ve all been waiting for: the highlights. We’ve added support for a whole lot of Tiger handhelds based on licensed IP in this release, including the unmissable MC Hammer, Batman Forever, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Robocop 2. We’ve also added some of Tiger’s handheld renditions of popular games from other platforms, like Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter II, Battletoads, and Space Harrier II. On the arcade side, newly working games include prototypes Calcune and In Your Face, a location test version of Teki Paki, PGM2 titles Oriental Legend 2 and Knights of Valour 2 New Legend, and a number of beatmania IIDX titles.

Computer fans don’t need to feel left out this Christmas, either. The Agat-7 floppy drive emulation has been improved to the point where it’s considered working, and the internal HP-9845 printer is now supported. If you’re at all interested in the FM Towns, you need to give this release a try, as r09 has made numerous improvements to sprites and scrolling, and greatly improved keyboard behaviour. There are also some big software list updates across a number of systems.

OpenTTD v1.7.2 is released. OpenTTD is an open source simulation game based upon the popular Microprose game "Transport Tycoon Deluxe", written by Chris Sawyer. It attempts to mimic the original game as closely as possible while extending it with new features.

DOSBox-X (2017/12/24) Christmas Eve is released. DOSBox-x is a branch of DOSBox v0.74. DOSBox emulates an Intel x86 PC, complete with sound, graphics, mouse, joystick, modem, etc., necessary for running many old MS-DOS games that simply cannot be run on modern PCs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and FreeBSD.

DOSBox-X Changelog:
IMGMOUNT now supports .HDI disk images. You can now directly mount most HDI images PC-98 games are distributed in to a drive letter.
Disk image support can now handle both IBM PC MBR and PC-98 IPL partition tables.
EMS page frame no longer strictly fixed to E000h. In PC-98 mode, the page frame is moved to D000h to avoid conflict with the EGC 4th bitplane at E000h.
UMB fixed not to overlap with EMS page frame, which should help with some crashes.
Windows builds now use a script to better automate these Windows releases.

Visual PinMAME v3.0

Heres a new version of the MAME variant that just features on Pinball games, heres the release news:

Visual PinMAME v3.0 is released. PinMAME emulates the hardware found in almost every solid state pinball machine created from the mid 1970's through 2014. Visual PinMAME is an emulation project which is based on the current PinMAME source code. If you're new to PinMAME, check out the included pinmame.txt file. Visual PinMAME is a Windows COM object which can be controlled by scripting languages such as Visual Basic Script. This allows other programs to 'control' Visual PinMAME.

Heres an emulator that i am not too familiar with so instead of talking rubbish, ill give you the release info:

QEMU v2.11.0 is released. QEMU is a generic and open source machine emulator and virtualizer.When used as a machine emulator, QEMU can run OSes and programs made for one machine (e.g. an ARM board) on a different machine (e.g. your own PC). By using dynamic translation, it achieves very good performances.When used as a virtualizer, QEMU achieves near native performances by executing the guest code directly on the host CPU. A host driver called the QEMU accelerator (also known as KQEMU) is needed in this case. The virtualizer mode requires that both the host and guest machine use x86 compatible processors.

Heres a new version of the Open Source Video Game Library:

Playnite v3.3 is released. Open source video game library manager and launcher with support for 3rd party libraries like Steam, GOG, Origin, Battle.net and Uplay. Including game emulation support, providing one unified interface for your games.

* Steam, Origin, GOG, Battle.net, Uplay support
* Import games from Steam, Origin, Battle.net, GOG and Uplay services including games that are not installed. You can also import Windows Store (UWP) games.
* Console Emulation support
* Import console games and run them through emulators.
* View options
* Choose from 3 different view options.
* Custom games
* Add any game or program with custom launch options.
* Automatic Update
* Application automatically updates to new version.
* Portable installation
* Run Playnite without need to install, with ability to run from any place, with option to configure database location for automatic sync via service like DropBox or Google Drive.
