Runescape introduces botfinder general into the game

Jagex, the creators of the hugely popular and multi-award winning free-to-play adventure game - RuneScape, today announced details of their most stringent anti-bot update ever - Botany Bay.

Botting is a system whereby a player uses automated computer software to level their character whilst they are away from the computer. The most common bots within RuneScape are used by players who wish to raise their experience in a specific skill such as mining or woodcutting. Using such 3^rdparty software is against the RuneScape rule and has resulted in a player being permanently banned from the game when caught.

Following on from the successful Bot Nuke of 2011, Jagex have taken a huge step in their battle against the bots by introducing tough new sanctions against players who are caught botting. Players who do bot will not only be banished from the game, but will also be named and shamed among the community.

From today, any player caught botting will be given two warnings to allow them to change their ways, after which they will be permanently banned from the game - with no appeals. At each warning stage the botter's avatar will change to signify to the rest of the community that they have been caught botting. After receiving their second and final warning should they break the rules again, the bot avatar will be transferred to a new area called Botany Bay to await the judgment of the community.

Mark Ogilvie, RuneScape Lead Designer commented, "We take a very hard line on cheaters in our game and have taken the unique move to name and shame those who have been breaking one of our most important rules. We have wanted to do this for some time and we hope that by bringing the actions of those who cheat to the attention of the wider community, we can make a massive step towards eliminating botting from the game”.

Ogilvie continued, “Our community has always had strong feeling about players who cheat the system by botting, especially as they feel it devalues their own hard work and in-game achievements. Botany Bay literally puts guilty players in the stocks whilst the community decides what to do with them. Players who do take part in the trial and subsequent sentencing will be rewarded with a unique in-game cosmetic item."

During the botter’s trial players will be given the chance to vote on their favourite method of disposal for the bot, including being stomped upon by a dragon and blasted in a ray of light from the RuneScape gods. Players will also be able to show their displeasure by pelting the bot with rotten fruit whilst they wait for their votes to be counted.

This update comes hot on the heels of the recent J.A.G update which greatly increased the security options available to all RuneScape players.

The Secret World Issue 3: The Cat God purrs seductively at players.

Funcom is excited to announce that the third content update for the company's modern-day massively multiplayer online game 'The Secret World' is now live. This is the third content update following the launch of 'The Secret World' less than three months ago, and it is part of the development team's ambitious post-launch content plan.

Since launch, the developers have added many new missions, the rocket launcher weapon, a plastic surgery clinic and a barbershop, a looking-for-group-tool and much, much more. And the latest update doesn't just contain new content, but it also sets the stage for our first seasonal event!

The event and the Cat God himself will make their appearance in October as we are getting closer to Halloween, so look forward to a phone call from an old acquaintance to set you off.

The Halloween event will run through the end of October and into the first week of November, so there'll be plenty of opportunities to take on the challenge and learn what's behind this new, dark threat to The Secret World.

Halloween will offer several missions which set off a brand new storyline and a brand new villain, both of which we'll get back to further down the road.

In addition to fresh content, such as new locations and monsters, our Halloween event also brings with it tricks, treats, cool new costumes and special pets.

But, of course, that's not all we're bringing to you with Issue #3. There are also several new missions available right now:

'The Binding', which brings you to the City of the Sun God in Egypt to learn more about the Seven Sentinels. This truly epic investigation mission is definitely one of the most challenging and extensive in The Secret World and will offer even the most hardened puzzle solvers a run for their money.

The werewolf Traian gets a brand new action mission in the Carpathian Fangs. 'Dogs of War' plays on the mounting conflict between the vampires and their allies. Use your wits and battle prowess to instigate a war between the werewolves and the vampires, and exploit the ensuing chaos to defeat enemy commanders.

We are continuing our updating of Lairs in this Issue. We are adding a full set of Lair missions; to let the process of gathering up the last few pieces you need to finalize those patterns go even smoother. Besides there will be several more updates to Lairs in the near future.

In the coming weeks you should also look forward new outfits available in the in-game store and a completely new awesome pet with a jet pack on its back!

This new ability can be found in the character tab of your inventory and is unlimited in time. Watch your companion as well as your wings while weaving further beads into the respective jewelry and witness the changes that take place.

New Quests
To guide you through the Days of Knowledge we have created exciting and fun new quest chains. Assist Carmen the Milkmaid and try to recapture the symbol of knowledge from dubious hands. Make sure to check the sawmill on your farm. If you are willing to learn, and are successful enough, you may even earn the Academic Cap.

The production of the caps will be available until October 17th. All new farmers will also find fresh challenges, so they can continue their progress towards a flourishing farm.
As usual our friendly turtle will help you complete the many tasks and duties that accrue on your farm. Have you already noticed its new appearance?

New Decorations
A multitude of highly diverse ways of decorating your farm is now available. Various different paths, turns and kerbs can be used to give your farm an individual look. Will it look neat, a bit overgrown or something in between? Decide for yourself and build a new eye-catching farm piece by piece.

New Mini-game Function
The character animation can be turned off while playing Quabble, to minimize data flow. With this new function you can still enjoy throwing the dice, even if your technical resources are temporarily limited.

Additional New Features
In addition, new functions have been added to improve your gaming experience as you spend time on your farm.

Angler
Detailed information on fishing can be found hidden behind the life ring in the angler display.

Language Flag
Another new feature is the country flag that is displayed alongside the in-game nickname. Now you know at least one language in which you can address another player without having to check their profile, and other users know which language they should use to contact you.

Tryst’s core design focuses on its Tech Tree or A.R.M. Similar to a talent tree in RPG’s this feature allows a player to customize their units according to their needs and wants. In the complete game, the stars of the show are the Zali. Java.' According to Security Explorations researcher Adam Gowdiak, who sent the email to the Full Disclosure Seclist, this Java exploit affects one billion users of Oracle Java SE software, Java 5, 6 and 7. On the trail of missing scientists
Summer 2012: five young scientists working for the Alvinson Foundation disappear without leaving a trace. Manu, Alissa, Hisham, Sofia and Stanko were part of a research team named MHD6, working in the labs of the Belgrade University of Physics. Recent events would suggest a possible abduction.
The foundation decides to carry out its own investigation and radically chooses to request the help of internet users.
With the help of various technical tools, the users will contribute to the investigation, lend their support to the field teams, help save the scientists and possibly become the story’s heroes.

The first ‘total fiction’
Alt-Minds is a mystery game for PCs/Macs and tablets where you can help to track down missing scientists. It’s also a mobile app to help you keep up with the investigation and find secret locations thanks to the geolocalisation option. You can choose how to play – with your tablet or PC/Mac or both. The more different media you use, the more twists to the plot will be revealed to you.

A script going beyond reality

By downloading the app on your tablet or smartphone you can also keep up with developments in the investigation through news feeds and videos. If you do wish to complete the experience you can try and discover thousands of secret locations all over Europe and up to the far reaches of Russia thanks to the geolocalisation option.

A real time experience
Alt-Minds is a real time experience, which starts on 5th November and lasts for 8 weeks. The investigation will happen in real time, hour by hour, minute by minute. The missions you can take part in happen in a limited time frame. The ‘real time’ option can be disabled at any time and you can make up for lost time if you have been away using a ‘catch up mode’.

A mainstream web series
Every week an episode of the web series broaches subjects related to current events and raises exciting issues linked to post humanism. The Alt-Minds web fiction explains scientific and social issues in simple terms, also revealing the unseen and fascinating sides of hidden or unknown stories. Along with the game experience and the web fiction, official newspapers will broach these topics and review scientific advancements.

A new age of conflict begins - world of warcraft: Mists of pandariatm now live

Cyber Monster is a browser-based MMORPG with a twist. An advanced 3D graphics rendering engine generates a world brimming with enjoyable adventure, while a focus on building communities and a deep mount system lends the game a broad appeal.

Though their hands feel as soft as water when healing, their powerful Staff can hit you like a tidal wave when it needs too.

The Rangers are superior hunters with a graceful fairy like figure, usually found fighting on their own at a distance using their superior shooting skills. They can pierce the chest of enemies with cold arrows from sniper positions, making Rangers the stuff of nightmares for any opponent unfortunate enough to stumble into their sights.
Though coming with pre-assigned genders, Cyber Monster's balanced class system lets players choose their class freely based on personal preference.
