War of the Roses, a gritty medieval third-person team-based melee combat game, has officially launched on leading digital distribution platforms. The medieval brawler, inspired by the historic 15th century English civil war of the same name, can be purchased for $29.99.
Senior Producer Gordon Van Dyke and guests will be hosting a live stream countdown to the release of War of the Roses today. The broadcast can be viewed starting at 5pm GMT / 9am PDT on the official Paradox Interactive Twitch TV channel at www.twitchtv.com/paradoxinteractive
The king has fallen with no clear successor and two powerful English houses are vying for the coveted crown of England. You step into armor donning the vibrant, albeit tarnished, colors of your liege lord and march alongside your fellow knights into a battle frayed with confusion and the clash of steel on steel. With arrows and bolts grazing past your cheeks, you head deep into the skirmish in an attempt to show your enemies exactly which rose is the most powerful. Sharpen your blades and prepare yourself for War of the Roses, where skill is not an unlock.
Enter the battle for either York or Lancaster by visiting the official War of the Roses site here:www.waroftherosesthegame.com/buy

Lukas Hoenderdos (Rejected Games) & Ricardo de Zoete (RZDESIGN) just announced their first game coming to iOS and Android. An Alien with a Magnet. An Alien with a Magnet will be an unique game filled with action-packed, magnetized & arcade-style gameplay in an extraterrestrial package starring an alien who crashed into a planet.
Take control of this alien and his spaceship and get him back to his home planet using a magnet which he attached onto his spaceship. Get ready to explore multiple galaxies, using your magnet to orbit around colorful and unique planets to get to your goal. But look out for dark holes and asteroids blocking your path, they won’t do any good to you and your spaceship!
Besides the adventure mode, you can also play the two bonus modes which will keep you busy for even more hours of fun gameplay! Beat your friends in the online leaderboards with Star Rush and get until the last level in the color mode.
Expect this fun and amazing new iOS game arriving on your iPhone, iPod Touch & iPad around Q1 2013!
The Story
Once upon a time there was an alien, traveling outer-space and doing its thing. Suddenly his spaceship was pulled strongly towards one of the planets. In all his powers he tried to pull up, but the he couldn’t prevent the inevitable from happening...
Then it went all black. After a while he wakes up by a voice coming from the spaceship. “Error. Error. Error.”
After an inspection the spaceship body appears to be in reasonable state but he found the engine to be completely destroyed. After searching the entire planet, all he found was the cause of his crash: a giant magnet. It was pulling all metal to the planet, including the spaceship.
“But wait a minute. What would happen if I would use that...?”
Quotes
Ricardo: ”An Alien with a Magnet is the first project where I have the opportunity to show a bit more of my imagination and humor, graphic- and story wise. Also I am really glad I can work with Lukas, because of his experience in the gaming industry and also his knowledge of development in Unity. Thanks to that, this game will also be my first steps on other platforms besides iOS”
Lukas: ”After leaving my day job, this is what Rejected Games should be all about: creating fun and crazy games, like An Alien with a Magnet. I am glad to have met Ricardo, he truly is a brilliant artist with an amazing eye for characters. Combining his ideas together with my vision, caused us to get to a point to where we sat down and brainstormed for a new game. In those brainstorms we came up with a lot of fresh ideas and one of them was this concept that has a lot of potential and led us to An Alien with a Magnet. “
Features
- An unique game including action-packed, magnetized & arcade-style gameplay that’s only possible in outer space!
- Help our alien to get back to his home planet using the only tool he got working on his spaceship: a magnet.

- Including three unique and action-packed game modes
- Adventure mode: 20+ amazing levels filled with an adventure you won’t forget.
- Star Rush: An unique galaxy, filled with hundreds of stars which you must collect within the time you get. Try to be the best on the leaderboards and beat your friends.

The Invasion of the Ghost Khan has come to an end. With the lands freed from his tyranny the players can now focus on their enemies and the fight over territory and castles. The battle has never been so intense and the stakes have never been so high - rewriting medieval history!
Players can now construct Castles in their cities. Castles can be built in each city and upgraded until they reach level 10. These massive buildings grant bonuses to several very important aspects of the gameplay:
- Resources - the more the Castle structure is upgraded, the more resources will mines, lumber mills and farms provide. The extra resources always come in handy when building, training, upgrading or helping your clan mates.
- Training speed - training units faster is crucial to your war efforts. Being able to assemble a big army before your opponents do so gives you the upper hand and brings up a number strategic opportunities in front of you.
- Prestige - Knights appointed to govern your city will receive a prestige bonus for every mission and every battle they take part of.
- Clan points - With the Ghost Khan gone the Castle building will award clan points as a symbol of control over the land. Winning the round with your clan was never as challenging as it will be now! It will require defeating countless players and leaving their nations lie in ruin.
In the absence of the Ghost Khan people once again turn towards colonizing the land - players can create new cities by ordering the Noblemen to start settle marches to custom coordinates.

Bahamut’s Assault is a featured event in Tamer Saga, a browser-based anime-style RPG brought by PopPace. By participating in the event, players are able to earn tons of Prestige. Today, the development team behind Tamer Saga was willing to share more tips and tactics related to the event with their fans. More details are as follows.
When players prepare to challenge Bahamut, they must pay attention to the following tips.
A. A flying dragon can help players start the battle faster. Only players on a flying mount are able to reach Bahamut’s location at the very beginning.
B. Turn off the switch to view other characters any more. It would help players easily select Bahamut as a target.
C. Never summon out a Guild Eudemon which only causes not much damage but would increase Bahamut’s morale.
D. Elixir of Shield and Elixir of Power would be enough. Elixir of Shield can be used to resist the damage suffered in a round and allow pets to attack one more time. Elixir of Power can be used to increase the damage dealt by pets. More damage dealt means more Prestige earned. Of course, players can also enhance the max aptitude of their pets to bring their pet’s power into full play.
Reasonably deploying the participating pets would bring players better effects. A formation in Tamer Saga contains 9 grids. In fact, Bahamut always attack the middle of the grids first and then the left side and the right side. Players can deploy the pets with lower damage dealt in the middle and the ones with higher damage dealt on the two sides.
However, Bahamut will cast an AOE skill to attack its enemies when it accumulates 125 points Rage. Nobody can bear the damage it deals unless they dodge the attack. So, if players’ 5 attacks all hit Bahamut, it will cast the skill in the first round. How to stop Bahamut from casting the skill in the first round? First, don’t dispatch so many participating pets. Players and their two damage dealer pets would be enough. They can still end the battle in 10 seconds but deal more damage to earn more Prestige.
Last but not the least; players can only attack Bahamut once every 30 seconds. When Bahamut possesses lower HP, players must seize the chance. In addition, players should know how much damage they can deal so that they can increase the success rate.
PopPace team is pulling out all stops to add more attractive, interesting systems into the game. Join Tamer Saga now to experience brand new systems by yourself. Visit http://www.poppace.com/ to learn more about PopPace and visit https://tsapp.poppace.com/hd.php to enjoy Tamer Saga in HD version.

Feral Interactive today announced that Batman: Arkham City™ Game of the Year Edition, the critically-acclaimed action adventure game, will be released for the Mac this November. Developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for consoles and PC, Batman: Arkham City GOTY will arrive on the Mac fully loaded with all previously released downloadable content (DLC), including the Harley Quinn’s Revengepack.
Batman: Arkham City builds upon the intense, atmospheric foundation ofBatman: Arkham Asylum, sending players flying through the expansive Arkham City – five times larger than the game world in Batman: Arkham Asylum – the new maximum security “home” for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds.
Arkham City is a vast, open world, gothic metropolis hiding a deep assortment of side missions, secrets and puzzles that Batman will need all of his skills and gadgets to discover and solve. Along the way, players will use Batman's signature Free Flow™ combat system to square off against countless thugs and a nightmarish rogue's gallery including The Joker, The Riddler, Two-Face, Harley Quinn, The Penguin and Mr. Freeze.
The Harley Quinn’s Revenge mission, a standalone story set two weeks after the events of the main game, sends players back into Arkham City as both Batman and Robin. Players must utilize each of the characters' unique combat and investigative skills to uncover Harley's vengeful plan and shut the gates on the urban mega-prison forever. Additional DLC includes the Catwomanpack, in which players become Catwoman in a subplot that takes place alongside the main story, and the Nightwing and Robin bundle packs, which allow players to become Robin and Nightwing as they take on the game’s challenge mode.
“Swooping above rooftops and using the grapnel to zip between buildings gives the player an incredible sense of freedom,” said David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral Interactive. “Arkham City is complex, sinister and surprising: the perfect playground for Batman.”
Pricing, system requirements and a mini-site dedicated to Batman: Arkham City GOTY for the Mac will be announced closer to the release date. A trailer for Batman: Arkham City GOTY is available now on Feral’s YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/feralinteractive).

Remember those hazy days of summer when HP ran an ad during the Olympics, slipped in a a shot of an unannounced tablet and thought we wouldn't notice? (P'shaw!) Well, you can finally lay your speculation to rest, as HP just formally unveiled the mystery tab, along with a slew of accessories. It's called the ElitePad 900 and, as rumored, it's a 10-inch Windows 8 slate meant for business users, with features like pen input, drive encryption and optional 3G / 4G.
Like HP's high-end EliteBook laptops, the ElitePad has a premium look, marked by a machined aluminum back cover and 400-nit IPS display coated in Gorilla Glass. Also similar to the EliteBooks, it meets the military's MIL-spec 810G durability requirements, and can withstand three-foot drops, among other accidents. All told, it weighs 1.5 pounds and measures 9.2mm thick. Going by weight, that's more along the lines of what you'd expect from a larger, 11-inch tablet, but 1.5 pounds is still manageable, especially considering how armored this thing is.
On the inside, it runs an Atom-based Intel Clover Trail processor, buffered by up to 2GB of RAM. Like so many other systems with this kind of chip, it promises about 10 hours of runtime -- a clear improvement over similar devices packing Core i5 CPUs. Storage-wise, you'll have your choice between a 32 or 64GB SSD. The screen has a resolution of 1,280 x 800, making it the one feature likely to disappoint power users. Take a tour around the device and you'll find an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1080p shooter up front for video chats. Hidden behind a service door on the back are two slots: one for microSD cards, and another for 3G / 4G SIMs.
And how 'bout those accessories? In addition to the tablet, HP will be selling two so-called SmartJackets, cases that do a little more than just shield the device from wear and tear. One of them, for instance, has two USB ports, HDMI output, a full-size memory card slot and room for an optional battery slice. That battery, by the way, has a capacity of about eight hours, so while the case does add some heft it could be worth it if you need a PC that will last through a flight from New York to Tokyo. As for the second case, its defining feature is a built-in keyboard, which plugs directly into the tablet.
Though HP announced the ElitePad 900 today, the tablet won't go on sale here in the US until January. Hopefully we'll also get a final price as we get closer to that launch date. Luckily, we've already gotten a chance to play with it, so meet us after the break for hands-on photos and a short walk-through video detailing our first impressions.

Reverb Publishing and HandyMan Studios’ upcoming terraforming space-adventure, Edge of Space, recently broke the top 50 on Steam’s Greenlight project, but the game needs help with a final push to the top 10. In honour of one of the many bizarre characters players will meet in the game — an armoured space cat — Reverb Publishing is issuing a pledge to donate money to The Humane Society if the game gets approved for release on Steam.
If Edge of Space is approved by October 15, 2012 through Greenlight, Reverb Publishing will donate $5000 (that's £3,096.07) which will go towards providing necessary care and safety to homeless cats. If the game doesn’t get approval, well... we don't even want to think about a world where kitties are in peril. Or one where Edge of Space fails to get green lit — and our beloved armoured space cat (we call him Harvey) has to be scheduled for euthanasia.
The challenge is out there. For a simple 'yes' vote on Steam’s Greenlight, consumers can actively take a role in saving the lives of kitties. So, do your bit, save some cats and see a great space sandbox adventure get onto the Steam platform; complete with its very own armoured space cat.
It’s a win-win!
Edge of Space has been submitted to Valve’s Steam Greenlight projecthere. Greenlight allows members of the Steam community to vote for games that they’d like to see available on the service. For more information on Steam Greenlight, please visit www.steamcommunity.com/greenlight. For more information on Edge of Space, visit the game’s official website:http://playedgeofspace.com/.

Dixons Retail has unveiled a new trade-in scheme at PC World and Currys stores that will enable consumers to get cashback on old Apple machines when they buy a new Macbook, iMac or Mac Mini.
Interested customers will be able to send off machines that are up to three years old, and in return they'll get up to £350 for an iMac, Macbook Air of Macbook Pro, or £250 for a Macbook.
Non-Apple-ites aren't forgotten, as they can also get £150 cashback for a Windows 7 laptop, or £100 for other laptops.
The cashback comes after customers purchase a new machine, then fill in a form, before sending off the older machine.
While the prices are perhaps lower than what some people would be able to get through a private sale, PC World and Currys will be hoping to grab market from those looking for an easy sale.
It'll be interesting to see how other players in Apple resale market are affected. What do you think?
You can read more on the deal here at PC World.

As the release date for Microsoft’s latest operating system approaches, the IT industry can't help but ponder how its arrival might stimulate the market.
Windows 8 is going to introduce a number of changes compared to previous versions, including a new graphical interface and a focus on the touchscreen experience. It’s all part of the firm’s strategy to embrace the highly mobile and connected devices that are so popular at the moment (hence the rollout of the Microsoft Surface Tablet that’s about to hit the channel on October 26th as well).
After a tough year for many in the computing sector, hopes are running high that a new OS from Microsoft might encourage spending on both hardware and software.
Let’s find out what the channel thinks:
“My opinion is that it will stimulate the channel around new devices and drive incremental sales – mobiles and tablet devices particularly need this launch and there are some fantastic calling card products available this side of Christmas, which will in turn drive the adoption of the Windows 8 platform on legacy devices. More so than any other Windows launch, this one has the ability to drive incremental sales beyond just replacement laptop and PC products, and especially those looking to a new mobile or additional tablet device to complement a laptop/PC.” Stewart Hayward, General Manager, Marcoms, C2000
“We are confident that the new interface will encourage existing users to upgrade their machines, but also ensure manufacturers bring a new wave of hardware to the market, which should ensure we have some exciting new products available for Christmas. It also opens up the possibility of upgrading existing users with new components and peripherals as their old products may not bring the same level of usability with the new OS. This provides us with a great opportunity to work with manufacturers to sell the next generation of components and peripherals to consumers, which will traditionally be the margin-rich products that we resellers love.” Sam Binks, Product Manager, Dabs.com
“With its enhanced functionality and touchscreen capability we are confident that this product will invigorate the market and will be snatched up by our customers, in particular our early adopters who we know are keen to try out this exciting new product. We will be introducing Windows 8 at our EntaLive events taking place later this year.” Jon Atherton, Group VP, Entatech
“We at Ingram Micro are excited about the opportunity that Windows 8 presents to us and our business partners – through new and exciting devices that enhance the PC experience, the standard interface irrespective of the device type or platform, along with the expectation of IT refresh cycles being brought forward – as businesses look to optimise their IT estate by delivering next generation technology for better cost management, collaboration and innovation. Such benefits will also allow our customers to realise incremental revenues through services that augment the Windows 8 upgrade drive.” James Parker, Marketing Director, Ingram Micro
“Windows 8 focuses on the touchscreen user experience, and the hardware industry is supporting the launch by building innovative form factors that are a convergence between the laptops and the tablets. They are built on the faster processors and will have solid state drives (SSD) with instant-on technology. Lots of investment has been made in marketing and PR activity by leading hardware manufacturers. The launch is expected to invigorate the computing channel.” Manish Goenka, GfK Account Manager
“Windows 8 is going to be massive. I have not been as excited about an operating system since Windows 95. I am like a little kid on Christmas Eve. The channel and VIP’s reseller partners in particular will hugely benefit from the greatest operating system ever witnessed. It will certainly stimulate spending but also create huge opportunities for multiple devices, allowing total and seamless connectivity.” Dave Stevinson, Sales Director, VIP Computers
“We look forward to the launch of Windows 8 and the exciting new products that we will have available for customers for the Christmas period.” Sebastian James, Chief Executive, Dixons, in the firm’s Q1 statement

CCP Games, one of the world's leading independent game studios, has announced EVE Online: Retribution, the 18th free expansion for its award-winning sci-fi massively multiplayer online game.
Coming on December 4, 2012, EVE Online: Retribution will shake the very core of the limitless game universe as it rockets towards an unprecedented 10th anniversary year with more players than ever before.
Central to EVE's dynamic unending content are the dreams, plans and actions of its players. EVE Online: Retribution accentuates the core philosophy of the legendary online society: that each decision and each action bears truly meaningful consequences via human interaction.
A complete rework of EVE's bounty system will allow players to exact revenge by placing bounties on individuals, corporations and alliances and enlisting other players to "do the dirty work." The agression flagging system, "Crimewatch," will undergo changes as well, making clear the consequences of actions, whether legal, suspect or illegal.
EVE Online: Retribution will see all frigates, destroyers and cruisers collectively reworked in a tremendous game balancing effort that will lead to massive play style refreshments for pilots of all skill levels. Four new Tier 2 destroyer-class ships will be added alongside major changes in other systems, including NPC artificial intelligence, factional warfare, sound design and the user interface.
"This is the perfect followup to a recent series of well-received expansions in which we've put even more control over the game universe in the hands of our players," said Jon Lander, EVE Online's Executive Producer. "Limitless human conflict and real consequences for your actions: sounds like a compelling dramatic setting to me."
More about EVE Online: Retribution will be revealed at the feature page (www.eveonline.com/retribution) and in regular developer blog posts leading up to launch (http://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp).

Firefly Studios has just released a new tutorial video for their free-to-play MMO Stronghold Kingdoms, currently the second most popular free-to-play game on Steam.
The fourth Official Stronghold Kingdoms Tutorial video details the game’s parish, country, province and country Capitals. Capitals play a pivotal role in controlling the land in Stronghold Kingdoms, existing at a local parish level and in larger communities such as a county. These centres of trade, leadership and elections depend on their fellow countrymen for strength, but with a little help they can become powerful forces of growth in the community. Understanding how they work is key for new players hoping to get involved in the political aspects of the game.
These Official Tutorial videos are designed to give new Kingdoms players a helping hand, each explaining how a different aspect of the game works. Whether you’re building your first village, exploring the game world, interacting with other players or crushing The Wolf, these videos should serve as a guide for doing just that.
