Chrome Will End XP Support in 2015; Firefox Has No Plans To Stop

Microsoft is ending support for Windows XP in 2014. Fortunately for its users who want to keep browsing the web, Google is continuing to support Chrome until at least 2015. Firefox has no current plans to end support for XP. Hopefully this will delay the dreaded XPopacalypse — the idea that a major virus/worm/trojan will take down millions of systems that haven't been issued security patches. When these browsers finally do end XP support, does it mean webmasters will need to write seperate versions of CSS and JavaScript for older versions if the user base refuses to leave Windows XP (as happened with IE6)?"

Adobe Breach Compromised Over 38 Million Users, Photoshop Source Code

Adobe's investigation into the massive data breach they were hit with this past August has revealed that over 38 million active users, not to mention inactive accounts, had their user IDs and passwords pilfered by hackers. An Adobe spokesperson confirmed the number, along with the theft of Adobe Photoshop source code. The initial report earlier this month put the extent of the breach at only 3 million credit card accounts, plus stolen Adobe Acrobat, Reader and ColdFusion source code."

‘Meet the Slave King’ Video Released for Stronghold Crusader 2

Firefly Studios has revealed a new AI character for its upcoming castle sim Stronghold Crusader 2. The below dev diary introduces players to the noble Slave King, one of eight unique AI characters playable in the game at launch:



A completely new character to the Stronghold series, the Slave King is a former slave seeking justice against his former masters in the arid deserts of the Middle East. His methods and style of attack may be more direct than other AI characters, but the Slave King is not to be underestimated! Commanding the loyalty of large armies of torch-wielding Slaves freed from their lives of imprisonment, the Slave King is more than likely to rush players early on at the start of a multiplayer match.

Players can choose to play as or against the Slave King at launch in eight player multiplayer. Co-op, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill and Capture the Flag game modes will be included, with players able to mix and match human and AI opponents however they want. Each AI character will be distinct, with his or her own unique castle design, tactics, defences and favourite troops. While the Slave King may rush the player early on, other characters will rely on large siege equipment or stealth. The aim is to give the player a different multiplayer experience with each match, depending on whom they choose to ally with and fight against.

Scheduled for release in early 2014, Stronghold Crusader 2 will be digitally self-published by Firefly Studios.

Naruto Saga Open Beta Launches Today

A new free-to-play MMORPG on the Games.la platform, Naruto Saga brings a fresh set of gameplay experiences into the world of the fabled Naruto anime series. Combining tactical one-on-one battle systems with quick time events (QTEs), dynamic quest systems based on Naruto plots, powerful Beast Summoning, exciting Arena PK and mysterious Ninja Transformation features, Naruto Saga gives players immense freedom while challenging them to use wisdom and courage to overcome obstacles as they strive to become the top ninja in the land.

Players have a main ninja character and choose their ninja class after completing the first main quest. Each of the three classes, Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and Genjutsu, has a unique set of attacks and skills that shape the way they approach battle.

Ninjutsu characters, such as Uzumaki Naruto, Gaara, and Jiraiya, are the heavy hitters of Naruto Saga, proficient enough with Critical damage to deal massive hits to their enemies. When triggered, Ninjutsu ninjas can deal extra damage to all enemies, and their adept use of Strike Talent can restrict a Taijutsu ninja's blocking ability.

Taijutsu ninjas, such as Rock Lee, Gai, and Tsunade, are known for their incredible defense capabilities. By using Block at the right moment, Taijutsu ninjas can greatly reduce the damage they take. Taijutsu characters are cunning enough to outsmart the Genjutsu Ninja's dodge ability.

Genjutsu practitioners, such as Uchiha Sasuke, Kakashi, and Orochimaru, have the ability to move faster than the eye can see. When using Dodge, Genjutsu ninjas can avoid any and all damage coming their way, while their proficiency with Tenacity Talent means they can stand toe-to-toe with the most powerful Ninjutsu ninjas around.

On their epic journey, players will meet and team up with some of the most famous ninjas in the anime world, including Kakashi, Sasuke, Sakura, and even the powerful Naruto himself. Players can also form teams with each other as they explore everything the mystical ninja world has to offer, and make use of deep social features and forums to share the secrets they find – or keep them to themselves.

Quantum Rush goes alpha!

The Quantum Rush team announced that the online future racer reached the alpha phase two weeks after its first trial by fire in form of an online racing event!


A few internal tests later it was official: the online racer's core features have been completed; important functionality, like buying and selling racers or the friends list that allows players to add friends as well as create teams to enter the matchmaking system together, has been implemented.
And so Quantum Rush is now on its way toward beta!
Before the closed beta phase can start, though, some more features, like sound and graphics settings and a launcher that automatically patches the game and keeps players up to date with patchnotes and important announcements, still have to be added.
A special training mode that gives players the chance to get to know the racetracks and racers will also be implemented. The most important task, however, will be fine-tuning the racers to allow both casual and hardcore gamers to enjoy the game.

Master Reboot is a first person psychological puzzle adventure game set inside the Soul Cloud. In the not too distant future they have created the Soul Cloud, a giant server that holds the data of your soul and memories when you die. The Soul Cloud is filled with floating islands, each island looks like a town; village or city filled with rooms, skyscrapers and houses that hold people’s memories. To house your Soul, a family member (or yourself before you die) purchases an island on the Soul Cloud where the server will generate rooms, houses or skyscrapers that hold each and every memory from the deceased’s past, or of memories of their choosing. Industry, a futuristic RTS/FPS game where you not only build your base, research technology and build defences in C&C style but also get to take control of one of your units and fight on the battlefield and even go inside your built base Dungeon Keeper style.

The game is now in a state where all it needs is the content filling in, mainly the 200+ technologies which can be found on its wiki site, however much progress has already been made.

Soon I will be taking pre orders of the game to speed up production in the hope that I can deliver Industry next year.

Guncraft halloween update now available

Exato Game Studios announced today its major Halloween update featuring Paranoia Mode is now available. Along with this highly-entertaining ‘Zombie Queen’ mode, the free update will include major features requested by the community members to further increase the already high level of customization and inspire even more imaginative user-created Guncraft content. To further celebrate the Halloween spirit, Guncraft will be 50% off on Steam (regular price $14.99) from October 28 until November 4.

“This was a fun update to create and a very important one to our growing Guncraft community,” said John Getty, lead developer of Guncraft and founder of Exato Game Studios. “With over 1,000 user-created items, we wanted to continue to foster the awesome creativity of our fans. This new update gives our creators a host of new options to customize the in-game mechanics in almost any way they like and introduces Paranoia Mode just in time for Halloween week.”

Guncraft Halloween Update Features Include:

• Paranoia Mode – This new mode spawns “Zombie Queens” who remain veiled as humans until they strike. At the start, one player is secretly selected as the Zombie Queen; they appear to be a normal Guncraftsoldier but now they have the power to turn any human they kill into zombies with enhanced speed and jumping abilities. The Queens must turn all humans into zombies before the humans revolt to kill them and their minions. Humans must band together, survive the swift zombie horde attacks, and use special abilities to identify the Zombie Queen... but the question becomes, who can be trusted?
• Admin Controls – One of the community’s most requested features, now players can adjust almost every variable to create all sorts of game types including forced classes, disabling hookshot, alternating gravity mechanics and much more.
• Enhanced Gunsmithing – To give even more inspiration to Gunsmithing creators, users can now create dual-wielded guns, unique melee weapons and more.
• Customizable Voices for Skins – Gamers can now change the voice pack used for each skin, including female voice SFX. Unique SFX packs will also be available in the near future (sold separately at $.99 each).
