PC vendor MSI has unveiled a light new gaming laptop atInternational CES 2014, weighing just over 3lbs.
The 15-inch concept notebook (pictured) was showcased toLaptopmag and features a 3K (2,880x1,620 resolution) display and two mSATA drives.
MSI also presented its latest notebooks including some upcoming models, which will allow users to remap any of the keyboard's keys to any other key (including the infamous Windows button), reports Andandtech. It will be able to save separate profiles for different games.
The existing branding for MSI’s notebooks is also being phased out. The GT, GS, GE, GP and GX series will become the GT Devastator, GS Stealth, GE Apache, GP Leopard and GX Destroyer respectively.
Laptop designs will be revised with thinner and lighter casing in the future.
Finally, MSI revealed the AG240 all-in-one computer and 24-inch touchscreen HD monitor with 'flicker-free' technology. Its inside will be similar to the MSI AG2712A and it will feature built-in speakers, microphone and webcam.
The AG240 also has an HDMI input so gamers can connect to a console like the Xbox One and use it as a screen for that.
Tom's Guide reports the AG240 will be priced less than the cost of the AG2712A ($1,600) and will launch later this year.

Nvidia CEO and co-founder Jen-Hsun Huang took the wraps off the company's next generation mobile processor, Tegra K1, during the company CES press conference on Sunday night.
Billed as the "first ever console-class mobile technology, enabling PC-class gaming technologies like DirectX 11, OpenGL 4.4 and tessellation", the capabilities of the world's first 192-core processor were shown in an Unreal Engine 4 demo, which you can watch below.
The new Tegra chip is more powerful than the PS3 and Xbox 360 while using a fraction of the wattage, Huang told CES attendees, Polygon reports.
"We've brought mobile computing to the same level as desktop computing," the exec said. "We've brought mobile computing to the same level as super computing. We've brought the heart of GeForce and the soul of Tesla to the Tegra family."
Epic Games founder Tim Sweeney also said: "We can take absolutely anything that runs on PC or high-end console and run it on Tegra. I didn't think that we'd be at this level on mobile for another 3-4 years."
Tegra K1 will come in 32-bit and 64-bit versions, with the former debuting in devices during the first half of this year and the latter arriving in devices during the second half of 2014.

Gaming PC maker Digital Storm will be among the first to release an official Steam Machine, with its new Bolt II unit coming "this month".
The "hybrid Steam Machine gaming PC" will start at $1,899 and features both Windows and SteamOS pre-installed out of the box.
The Bolt II will boast high-end processors in a slim case all kept chilly via a custom liquid cooling system.
"We (Digital Storm) are not looking to compete with console pricing," said Rajeev Kuruppu, Digital Storm's Director of Product Development.
"We're taking aim at the high end of the market, targeting consumers that demand the best possible gaming experience and who are looking for a PC capable of playing any title on their new 4K display."
The firm goes on to promise a slim form-factor PC with "performance that eclipses most full-size desktop PCs".
More than ten hardware manufacturers including Alienware and Gigabytewill showcase Steam Machine hardware at CES in Las Vegas this week, according to a report earlier today.
A Steam Machine presentation will take place at 5pm Pacific in Las Vegas today, January 6 (1am January 7 in UK), as part of this week's CES expo. CVG will be on site to bring all the news as it breaks.

CyberPowerPC will release a Steam Machine in 2014 priced to compete directly with Sony and Microsoft's latest consoles.
The SteamOS-running PC will come in two versions priced at $499 and $699, both of which will be customizable, the firm said in an announcement Monday.
The $499 "Steam Machine A" will feature a 3.9GHz A6-6400K processor from AMD, and an AMD Redeon R9 270 2GB GDDR5 graphics card.
Meanwhile, the higher-performance "Steam Machine B", for $200 more, will come with an Intel Core i3-4330 3.5GHz CPU and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 graphics card.
Both will contain 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM and a 500GB SATA-III 720rpm hard drive with SteamOS pre-installed.
"CyberPowerPC Steam Machine will feature full desktop PC performance in an advance stylish form," assures the press release.
Gaming PC maker Digital Storm also announced its first Steam Machine on Monday, going a different route entirely with its ultra high-end liquid-cooled 'Bold II' unit starting at $1,899 and featuring a dual-boot Windows/SteamOS setup.
More than ten hardware manufacturers including Alienware and Gigabytewill showcase Steam Machine hardware at CES in Las Vegas this week, according to a report earlier today.

Last month we took a look at Skywind, the fan-made Morrowind remake in the Skyrim Engine, and now the 70-plus person team behind the mammoth mod has released its first dev diary detailing the sorts of enhancements its making to Bethesda's 2002 open-world epic.
Perhaps the most arduous is sprucing up the environments to look more detailed. "Due to Morrowind's dated engine, a directly ported landscape would be too barren and empty to compete with today's game standards," the developer explained. "Because of this, the world of Morrowind needed to be recreated while still staying true to its original design and feel."Another major addition is voice-acting. The original Morrowind only had certain important bits of dialogue voice-acted, while the modders behind this remake plan to eventually record dialogue for the whole thing. So far it has 30 dedicated voice-actors on board for the undertaking. While the team stands at over 70 members, it's still recruiting more volunteers. To further investigate how things are coming along, you can download the under construction mod at the Skywind official site.

Do you like sharing games with your friends on Steam? Well good, because you can still do that - you'll just need to assure Steam that you actually know your friends before they can start digging into your library. An update to the Steam Family Sharing community page explains that in addition to authorizing the machine your friend accesses your library from, you'll also need to give clearance to the account they're using.
You'll now be able to grant 10 accounts and 10 machines access to your games and DLC, unless of course they require a third-party key or registration. The post explains that the added need to clear accounts allows a library's owner more control over who is accessing it. The change also decreases "the risk of VAC or other bans resulting from an unknown user accessing and abusing shared games on an authorized machine."
What kind of friend would troll from a friend's Steam library to the point of drawing administrative attention? Absolutely no one we've ever met, right?

The company known affectionately as Advanced Micro Delays has just confirmed something we already knew: the intriguing Mantle update for Battlefield 4, which promises a "significant" frame rate bonus for PC gamers running AMD hardware, has been postponed. It didn't arrive in December like it was supposed to, but is now officially meant to be on track for release sometime in January. The gossip is that the source of the delay isn't actually on AMD's side, but rather on EA DICE's, since the game developer has been swamped with bug-fixing chores and hasn't had time to focus on luxuries. Meanwhile, other developers tell us that they're getting on well with Mantle, thanks to its ability to circumvent DirectX and make better use of AMD's Graphics Core Next and octa-core CPU designs -- and that's something that we expect to be able to prove, one way or another, in the next few days.

After a successful Greenight campaign, indie action-adventure game Continue?9876543210 is out on Steam for PC, Mac and Linux, looking as pretty as it did under those viridescent lightbulbs. Continue? is on sale for $8 through January 10, and then it'll cost $10.
In Continue?, players are a dead video game character traveling the depressing wasteland of the Random Access Memory, talking to townsfolk, battling creatures and attempting to outrun the garbage collector. Its design resembles a 3D version of Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery with an Eldritch-y layer. It's a serious trip, developer Jason Oda says.
"This game is weird," he says. "You've probably figured that out by now. Everything in it however, has a deeper meaning behind it. All of the strange places you go to, people you talk to, and scenarios you go through are part of a greater idea that I hope you spend a second or two trying to figure out and interpret ... or not. You can also just play the damn thing."

With the release of Windows 8.1 to the world in October, Microsoft ended 2013 with two full months of availability for its latest operating system version. While Windows 8.1 is certainly growing quickly and eating into Windows 8s share, the duo has only now been able to pass 10 percent market share, while Windows 7 seems to be plowing forward unaffected. The latest market share data from Net Applications shows that Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 made steady progression in December 2013, gaining a combined 1.19 percentage points (from 9.30 percent to 10.49 percent). More specifically, Windows 8 gained 0.23 percentage points (from 6.66 percent to 6.89 percent), while Windows 8.1 jumped 0.96 percentage points (from 2.64 percent to 3.60 percent).

Everquest's lead designer plans to Kickstart a new MMORPG called Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen this month.
Brad McQuaid confirmed via Twitter findings from fans who dug up the plans for the new MMO ahead of his planned Kickstarter announcement, but revealed nothing further about the game beyond a piece of concept art.
McQuaid left Sony Online Entertainment to form Sigil Games, where he and another Everquest developer worked on Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. Releasing after an extended development cycle, the game was widely perceived as a failure and eventually purchased and reworked by SOE.
In a forum thread dedicated to digging up info about the game, McQuaid said he was overconfident after his first major project, Everquest, was a major success.
"I became extremely arrogant, thinking whatever I touched would turn into gold," McQuaid wrote. "And then when things didn't work out so well on my second try it was really quite a blow to me because I had deluded myself big time. I ended up in a bad place and I never want to be back there again, ever."
McQuaid said he is looking forward to revealing more about the project soon.

Good things really do come to those who wait, as developer Bohemia revealed that more than 400,000 people bought DayZ during its first week on Steam Early Access sale. It was released on 16th December for £20.Other week-one highlights, revealed in a Christmas update on the game's tumblr, include 40,000 concurrent users, three patches released and creator Dean Hall laying out the immediate future of the still-in-development game. The rolling stone of success may cause people otherwise not interested in DayZ to sit up and take note. But Bohemia issued a warning to those such onlookers, reminding them of the unfinished nature of the game."We strongly advise you not to buy and play the game at this stage unless you clearly understand what Early Access means and are interested in participating in the ongoing development cycle."Our review of the DayZ Alpha underlined that message."It's already got the magic," wrote our Rick Lane, "and given 12 months it will be something really special, but at the moment you're paying 20 pounds for a prettier landscape to ramble through and a few extra pockets to stick your gear in."

Mark "Messof" Essen's minimalist dueling game Nidhogg is coming to Steam on 13th January, the developer has announced.
Nidhogg has made quite the splash around the indie scene over the past few years where it's won the Nuovo award at the 2011 IGF and Fantastic Arcade's Bloodsport of the Year award in 2010.The premise is simple: Two players spawn in a stage facing each other. The goal is to reach the end of the level, running in the direction in which you spawn until you get eaten by the mythical Norse dragon Nidhogg. Naturally, you'll want to slaughter your opponent, though they can simply bypass you with a smooth evade. Each stage is comprised of several sections and your opponent will endlessly respawn upon death, so simply overcoming them once isn't enough. It sounds simple, but its two-button control scheme masks a complex move set of stabs, sword-throws, punches, dive kicks, ledge grabs, rolling evades, and wall jumps. While Nidhogg was previously only a two-player affair at various events, this commercial version will feature an up to eight-player tournament mode with online multiplayer.

Fallout fell out of retro-game-download-shop Good Old Games' hands at the end of the year because it was no longer old licensor Interplay's to give away. Bethesda's the boss now."Due to circumstances beyond our control, we needed to pull the three classic Fallout games..." wrote GOG a few days ago, referring to Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics. This followed an eye-catching sale in which all three games were given away for free."Boo, Bethesda!" an imaginary mob jeered. But perhaps this new owner isn't so bad after all."We're working to return classic Fallout games (1, 2, Tactics) to Steam and will provide an update when they're ready to go," the publisher recently announced on Twitter. What about GOG? Well, GOG had nothing further to add when contacted this afternoon, but there was a faint whiff of hope in the air.Nevertheless, anyone who obtained either of the Fallout games before their removal from GOG will still be able to download the installation files from the site.Meanwhile, there's the very closely related Wasteland 2 to look forward to.

UPDATE: The culprit has been found and it's apparently a false version of the Curse Client that's been sneaking the Trojan onto people's systems. Remove the client and run Malwarebytes and that should do the trick.Support Forum Agent Kaltonis has the full rundown:-The trojan is built into a fake (but working) version of the Curse Client that is downloaded from a fake version of the Curse Website. This site was popping up in searches for "curse client" on major search engines, which is how people were lured into going there.-At this point, it seems the easiest method to remove the trojan is to delete the fake Curse Client and run scans from an updated Malwarebytes. Should you still have issues, there is a more manual method that [tech support MVP] Ressie posted earlier in the thread.-Thanks to Ressie's efforts, most security programs should be able to identify this threat shortly, if not by the time I type this.-If you were compromised, follow the instructions here and we'll do our best to set everything right (as we always do).-For those of you interested in these MitM style attacks, this is the only confirmed case we've seen in several years outside of the "Configuring/HIMYM" trojan in early 2012 that hit a handful of accounts. These sort of outbreaks are annoying, but an Authenticator still protects your account 99% of the time.ORIGINAL STORY: Blizzard is warning World of Warcraft players to keep an eye out for a "dangerous Trojan" that can steal your account information and authenticator password in real time. Yikes!"We are currently looking for more information on the Trojan," Blizzard explained on itssupport forums. Unfortunately, it added "we have not been able to locate any anti-virus programs that will remove it besides just reformatting your system."On the plus side, the Trojan only appears to affect PC-users, so Mac players should be safe.If you think you've been infected, the developer suggested that you try to search for the Trojan by creating an MSInfo file then looking in the Startup Program section of that file for either "Disker" or "Disker64".If the search comes up positive, Blizzard suggests you reply to the support forums and state your MSInfo, a list of any add-ons and programs you recently installed along with where you got them, and any security programs you've run along with their results. In the meantime, be wary of any suspicious e-mails claiming to be from Blizzard that are not actually from Blizzard. Stay safe!

The Internet Archive has launched a beta version of the Console Living Room, a new initiative that makes hundreds of classic video games available for free, in-browser play.
Part of the Internet Archive's preservation-focused Historical Software Collection, the Console Living Room uses the JSMESS emulator to reproduce games for the Atari 2600, Atari 7800, the Magnavox Odyssey 2, the Colecovision, and the Bally Astrocade.
The collection features many cartridges that defined the golden age of gaming, including Atari 2600 classics like Yars' Revenge, H.E.R.O. and River Raid. The Colecovision sees its share of representation with standouts like BC's Quest for Tires and a prototype port of the arcade hit Burgertime, while history buffs can judge for themselves if the Odyssey 2's K.C. Munchkin rightfully earned a 1982 lawsuit over its similarities to Pac-Man.

To the Moon, the emotional adventure from indie developer Freebird Games, now has 20 more minutes of feelings and platypuses in a free mini-episode that dropped today. It's available in the Steam files, via Freebird or, if that site remains under heavy load, through these mirrors.
The new episode is half holiday treat and half restitution for the delay of A Bird Story, Freebird's next game that was initially slated to launch in 2013. The freebie is a lighthearted romp in Sigmund Corp with a tiny nod to Johnny's story from To the Moon, creator Kan Gao says.
"Sorry that A Bird Story's running late, but at least Eva and Neil get to make a short return sooner than expected," Freebird wrote on Facebook in December.
To the Moon will have Steam Trading Cards soon, with a preview of those included in the gallery below.
