CyberPowerPC will release a Steam Machine in 2014 priced to compete directly with Sony and Microsoft's latest consoles.
The SteamOS-running PC will come in two versions priced at $499 and $699, both of which will be customizable, the firm said in an announcement Monday.
The $499 "Steam Machine A" will feature a 3.9GHz A6-6400K processor from AMD, and an AMD Redeon R9 270 2GB GDDR5 graphics card.
Meanwhile, the higher-performance "Steam Machine B", for $200 more, will come with an Intel Core i3-4330 3.5GHz CPU and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 graphics card.
Both will contain 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM and a 500GB SATA-III 720rpm hard drive with SteamOS pre-installed.
"CyberPowerPC Steam Machine will feature full desktop PC performance in an advance stylish form," assures the press release.
Gaming PC maker Digital Storm also announced its first Steam Machine on Monday, going a different route entirely with its ultra high-end liquid-cooled 'Bold II' unit starting at $1,899 and featuring a dual-boot Windows/SteamOS setup.
More than ten hardware manufacturers including Alienware and Gigabytewill showcase Steam Machine hardware at CES in Las Vegas this week, according to a report earlier today.
A Steam Machine presentation will take place at 5pm Pacific in Las Vegas today, January 6 (1am January 7 in UK), as part of this week's CES expo. CVG will be on site to bring all the news as it breaks.
