Wargaming.net’s online multiplayer war shooter World of Tanks is heading to UK retail next month, courtesy of publisher Deep Silver.
MCV can reveal that the PC title’s UK release date is November 11th.
The Russian version of World of Tanks arrived first in 2010 and the European and North American releases followed earlier this year. Today it has over 5m registered users worldwide.
It’s a previously download-only game that uses a free-to-play payment model, where users can spend real money to speed up their progression and customise their tanks.
World of Tank’s retail SKU is priced at £7.99. It includes additional in-game currency, the possibility to play the game with a premium account and the German PzKpfw 38H735 tank.
The game will be distributed by Koch Media in the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Nordic countries, Benelux, Spain, Portugal, Greece and France. Deep Silver is Koch’s games publishing label.
“This special edition and its bonus content will offer excellent value for money for new players and established fans alike,” said Koch’s CEO Klemens Kundratitz.
Wargaming.net’s general manager Mario Baumann added: “We are very happy to have such an enthusiastic and professional partner in Deep Silver.”

Bethesda has released a PC patch for id's FPS Rage which fixes a number of driver-related bugs and adds new advanced graphics settings.
"We knew that all older AMD drivers, and some Nvidia drivers would have problems with the game, but we were running well in-house on all of our test systems," id software co-founder John Carmackadmitted to Kotaku. "When launch day came around and the wrong driver got released, half of our PC customers got a product that basically didn't work."
Updates include VSync, Texture Cache and Anisotropic Filter options. The full, extensive list of changes can be viewed on the Steam website. While Carmack believes that the PC still provides the best platform for ambitious development, its market share relative to PS3 and Xbox 360 make it less viable to concentrate on.
"We do not see the PC as the leading platform for games," Carmack continues. "That statement will enrage some people, but it is hard to characterize it otherwise; both console versions will have larger audiences than the PC version. A high end PC is nearly ten times as powerful as a console, and we could unquestionably provide a better experience if we chose that as our design point and we were able to expend the same amount of resources on it.
"Nowadays most of the quality of a game comes from the development effort put into it, not the technology it runs on. A game built with a tenth the resources on a platform ten times as powerful would be an inferior product in almost all cases."
Rage debuted at number two in the UK all-formats software chart this week.

Sports Interactive studio director Miles Jacobson claims that DRM measures are an inevitable part of the future of gaming.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Jacobson explained that escalating piracy was behind Sports Interactive's decision to make Steam a necessary part of playing Football Manager 2012.
According to the company's last "properly accurate" statistics, for every person that bought Football Manager 2009 four people acquired it illegally. Jacobson admitted that precise stats for subsequent iterations didn't exist, but confirmed that, "the numbers of people downloading torrents from public sites rose massively for both Football Manager 10 and Football Manager 11."
Whether Steam is effective in preventing post-release piracy remains to be seen, but Jacobson praised Valve's digital distribution platform for limiting "day-zero and pre-launch" piracy. He also acknowledged that pirated versions can't be directly translated to legal sales.
"Not everyone who pirates games would buy them if they couldn't pirate them - they'd just do without it," he said. "But there are a small percentage who would go out and buy it if they couldn't get it for free."
Jacobson claimed he would "love" to have no DRM in Sports Interactive's games, but made it clear that to expect it to happen would be naïve.
"I'd also love to not have to have locks on my home, or a burglar alarm, or locks on my car. How good would a life without keys be? I'd also love to have no insurance, either at home, or at the studio. Or a security guard at the office."
"The unfortunate reality is that as long as there are dishonest people in the world, you will need locks, and you'll need insurance. As long as there are people out there who want to pirate, there will be a need for DRM."
"Even with freemium games, people cheat and try and find ways to steal others coins, as per recent court cases. It's very sad, but it's the world we live in."

Fasten your seatbelts because another ScummVM release is just around the corner!
However, we need your help first in testing out a few games before we can release. In addition to the two new games for this release, Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos and Ringworld: Revenge of the Patriarch, we have a few other games that need testing. Please take a look at our wiki page to see which games need a playthrough.
As with all release testing, you'll need a daily build to get started. If you happen to find any bugs, please report them on the bug tracker. Once you complete one of the games, please let us know on the forums so we can throw the results up on the wiki page. Further information can be found in the release testing guidelines.
And Strangerke would like to remind you to grab a couple of screenshots of Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos and Ringworld: Revenge of the Patriarch for us and submit them according to our guidelines.

Thought Bulletstorm was heavy on the expletives? Developer People Can Fly thought so, too.
Creative director Adrian Chmielarz told Game Developer magazine the team was surprised by the reaction to the swearing in the over-the-top, Epic-produced FPS - but admitted it went too far.
"Do you know any swear word in a foreign language?" he asked. "German, French, Polish? When you say it out loud, no biggie, right? Not a problem to use it during a family dinner, I assume?
"That is how all the f-bombs sounded to us. Being Polish, all the strong language in Bulletstorm was just exotic and fun to us. We did not feel its power. In other words, Epic thought this is what we wanted and respected our creative vision, while we had no idea this vision was a bit more than we really wanted.
"It was only at the end of the development, when I read the Polish translation of the game, that I realized how dirty we were. I swear a lot. A LOT. And yet still I… kind of blushed."
Bulletstorm launched early this year to critical acclaim, but it struggled to set tills ringing.
In Eurogamer's 9/10 Bulletstorm review, Christian Donlan said "this is a game that wants you to laugh so hard that you sneeze on yourself, but it's also a game that wants you to experiment as much as possible with the tools you've been given".
"Its cleverness is as lightly worn as it is unexpected. It's the best kind of guilty pleasure. "

EA and Valve are currently engaging in late negotiations in an effort to bring Battlefield 3 to Steam, according to claims.
BF3blog quotes an ‘anonymous source from inside Valve’ as claiming the game should see release on the service alongside its US release on October 25th.
The ongoing stalemate revolves around the sale of DLC. Valve requires that DLC for games sold on Steam is delivered via Steam, whereas EA would prefer to distribute the content via its own means.
In June Crytek shooter Crysis 2 was pulled from Steam for exactly that reason.
EA has been using the dispute to drive consumers to its own digital retail portal, Origin, but there’s little doubt that Battlefield 3 will achieve wider penetration and greater sales if also sold via Steam.

DICE, Swedish developer of the upcoming Battlefield 3, has confirmed that PC players of the eagerly-awaited shooter's multiplayer beta will be able to play on a second map, Caspian Border, this weekend.
In a post on the Battlelog forum, reported by Eurogamer, community manager Ian Tornay writes: "After analysing the data from our first round of closed Caspian Border tests, we have great news for participants in the Battlefield 3 PC open beta: the DICE team has decided to bring back Caspian Border for the beta's final weekend and conduct an open large scale test of the 64-player Caspian Border map.
"Please keep in mind that as this is beta we will be stress testing our servers. As such, users may experience crashes, network instability and outages as we roll out and configure servers and network utilities."
The beta ends this weekend, with the full game released for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 25.

Xfire, the social site for PC gamers with over 20 million registered users, has secured $4 million in funding from Intel Capital, and added three new executive staff.
Mark Donovan joins as president, while Juston Brommel is now the CMO and Autumn Radtke the director of business development.
"Xfire is already the most advanced social service for gamers with group chat, group voice, and user generated content sharing tools like live game broadcasting," said Donovan, who was previously director of monetisation with the company.
"Think of Xfire as Facebook meets Skype for gamers. This round of capital is allowing us to make many enhancements starting with an entirely new look for the Xfire website and chat application. Intel Capital's funding will help us take what is already the leader in the space to the next level by continuing to build the team and quickly iterating on our product."
As well as this latest round of funding, provided by Intel Capital and Angel Investors, Xfire also has the support of investors like Tomorrow Ventures, Clearstone Venture Partners.
In August 2010 the company was acquired by Titan Gaming, a company co-founded by Donovan in 2006, but following this recent investment, Xfire will operate independently.
Xfire is based in California and its service is available in over 100 countries, allowing players to communicate while playing games like League Of Legends and World Of Warcraft.

Battlefield 3 could still arrive on Steam in time for its release on October 25.
The EA and DICE shooter isn't on the Valve digital distribution platform currently because the two publishers involved couldn't agree on terms regarding the release of DLC.
EA issued a frank statement back in August explaining the situation but gave some hope by saying, "We hope to work out an agreement where Steam can carry Battlefield 3."
According to a report on Battlefield 3 Blog from an 'anonymous source at Valve' those negotiations are still ongoing but the two sides are "very close to reaching an agreement regarding the sales of DLC content."

No More Heroes for Mobage, an iOS/Android game for the Mobage service, looks an awful lot like No More Heroes, as revealed by the first screens. But it has some rather important differences from the original game -- like, of course, touchscreen controls. NMH for Mobage is a "social assassin battle" with unspecified coop and competitive multiplayer features, a departure from the strictly solo Wii (and later Xbox 360 and PS3) game.
The new game is being published by Marvelous AQL. Mobage is starting up in North America -- with some other Grasshopper Manufacture properties, even -- so there's a chance Travis Touchdown will make it to our phones.

Eraesr writes with news that Epic Games has added Unreal Engine 3 support for Adobe Flash Player. This comes alongside news that Flash Player 11 has been released, an update that added Stage3D, "a set of low-level GPU-accelerated APIs enabling advanced 2D and 3D capabilities across multiple screens and devices.""With its new hardware-accelerated Stage 3D APIs, Flash Player 11 allows 1,000 times faster 2D and 3D graphics rendering performance over Flash Player 10. Developers can now animate millions of objects with smooth 60 frames per second rendering and deliver console-quality games on Mac OS, Windows and connected televisions. 'With UE3 and Flash, games built for high-end consoles can now run on the Web or as Facebook apps, reaching an enormous user base,' said Sweeney. 'This totally changes the playing field for game developers who want to widely deploy and monetize their games.'"
