Sega and Relic Entertainment has announced that Company of Heroes 2 will contain a new mode called Theater of War, which contains a group of single-player scenarios based on specific conflicts during World War II.“We get a lot of requests from fans to showcase specific conflicts from the war and it isn’t always possible to fit these into the campaign,” says producer Greg Wilson. “Theater of War gives us the opportunity to deliver these new gameplay experiences to our fans.”On launch day, Theater of War will feature nine missions for both Soviet and German armies, all of which will be based on famous battles from 1941.More battles will be added to Theater of War after Company of Heroes 2′s release.

When Greenheart Games released their very first game, Game Dev Tycoon (for Mac, Windows and Linux) yesterday, they did something unusual and as far as I know unique. They released a cracked version of the game, minutes after opening their Store. The pirated copy was completely same as the real copy, except that after a few hours into the game, players started noticing widespread piracy of their games in the game development simulator.

Greetings, fellow adventure gamers! We have finally come to the point when ScummVM 1.6.0 testing starts. This release adds support for a number of new games that need to be tested:
- 3 Skulls of the Toltecs
- Eye of the Beholder
- Eye of the Beholder II: The Legend of Darkmoon
- Hopkins FBI
- Tony Tough and the Night of Roasted Moths
- The Journeyman Project: Pegasus Prime
In addition, if you have Macintosh version of Discworld, please give it a try as well.
A daily build should be used for testing these, and if something goes unexpectedly wrong, please report it to our bug tracker. The completed games need to be reported on our forums and we will update our release testing page. For a usable test report, we need you to provide the version, language, and platform of the game you're testing. And, of course, please stick to the testing guidelines.
This release also has another interesting aspect. Depending on how intensively games are tested, we will add support for one more game: Hopkins FBI. For support to happen, we need test results on several platforms using several variants of the game, which includes the BeOS, OS/2, Linux and Windows versions.
In conclusion, if you want Hopkins FBI in ScummVM 1.6.0, grab your originals and contribute to this new testing period! We are also in need of screenshots too! Please submit them to our patch tracker.

The FCC told us that an LTE ready version of the Dell XPS 10 was coming, but there's nothing like official confirmation. In any case, it's here, and it runs on AT&T. Dell officially announced the variant's availability on its blog, identifying the radio the feds uncovered as a Qualcomm Gobi modem, a natural fit for the tablet's 1.5 GHzSnapdragon S4 CPU. The LTE option is only available for the device's 64GB configuration, and adds $100 to the price. Hey, nobody said getting LTE on your Windows RT tablet was cheap.

Studio's new creative director Morgan Gray overseeing release of third-person tactical shooter The Bureau: XCOM Declassified
[h=3]2K Marin[/h]
2K Marin's XCOM shooter is back with a new name and a new creative director. 2K Games today announced that the game has been renamed The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, with Morgan Gray being named the studio's new creative director.
Set for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC August 20, The Bureau has been changed from the first-person shooter it was originally announced as back in 2010. 2K Marin has converted the project to a third-person shooter with a tactical emphasis more in keeping with the series' history.
Gray has been with 2K Marin since 2010. Before that, he worked in senior producer roles on Dark Void at Capcom and on the Tomb Raider series at Crystal Dynamics.
As of press time, 2K Games had not responded to a request for clarification on what happened to 2K Marin's previous creative director, Jordan Thomas.

The new mode and four new maps arrive on May 15th for the platforms, running $14.99 for those who haven’t purchased the game’s Season Pass.

Researchers at the University of Washington's aptly named Ubiquitous Computing Lab can turn any LCD monitor in your house into a touchscreen, with nothing more than a $5 sensor that plugs into the wall and some clever software."The system works by measuring changes that your hand creates in the electromagnetic signature of the monitor. Surprisingly, it offers some pretty fine-grained detection, too: "full-hand touch, five-finger touch, hovering above the screen, pushing, and pulling." The "$5 sensor" part is mostly theoretical for now to those of us who don't live in a lab, though; on the other hand, "co-author Sidhant Gupta tells Technology Review that the $5 sensor uses off-the-shelf parts, and the algorithms are included in the paper, so it would be fairly easy for you — or a commercial entity — to recreate the uTouch system.

One of the more unique features of Google's web browser for Chromebooks has been the ability to open and view Microsoft Office files directly in the browser (as opposed to pushing them to Drive), but that's so far remained confined to those devices. Google's decided to change that today, though, releasing a new extension for Chrome Beta that allows the same functionality in the browser for Windows and Mac. There's no indication yet as to when it will make it to the stable release of Chrome, but beta users can install the extension now at the source link below.

Demand for Windows 8 tablets has increased throughout the opening quarter of 2013 says a newly released report.
According to research Strategy Analytic, Windows 8 tablets accounted for 7.5 per cent of the global tablet market, which is based on operating market share.
However, whilst Windows and its partners combined to ship a total 3.4 million Windows 8 devices in Q1, the firm continued to state sales could have been even higher.
"Very limited distribution, a shortage of top tier apps, and confusion in the market, are all holding back shipments," a Strategy Analytics statement reads.
Outside of Windows 8 devices, the tablet market reached an all-time high of 40.6 million global shipments during the first three months of 2013, an increase of 117 per cent on the 18.7 million tablets shipped in Q1 2012.
Unsurprisingly, Apple's iPad claimed the top spot in the tablet market with a share of 48.2 per cent, which converts to 19.5 million shipped.

Research from troubleshooting site Soluto has found Apple's MacBook Pro to be the "most reliable" device for running Windows 8.
Within a published list of the most reliable laptops to run Microsoft's flagship operating system, Soluto found the mid-2012 MacBook Pro to top the list.
In order to compile the list, Soluto acquired data from over 150,000 different laptops at the beginning of the year in order to evaluate each device's performance in terms of crashes, blue screens and other system issues.
Ironically, the MacBook running Windows 8 was found to have suffered the least of these issues at the end of the research period.
Meanwhile, Acer's Aspire E1-571 came in at second on the list, closely followed by Dell's XPS 13 notebook.
Soluto continued to highlight that the lack of third-party software and applications installed on Windows devices by OEMs may play a part in the slow down and troubleshooting of some devices – with the MacBook's clean install effectively leading it to the top spot of reliability.

The 2.0 patch released for SimCity has, according to some users, caused new problems with the game.
PCGamesN reports that the update, released earlier this week, has sparked outrage on both the game’s forums and Reddit after seemingly causing fresh issues with many of the title’s in-game systems.
Some users are reporting sewage overloads in even tiny cities while fresh traffic errors also seem to be cropping up. There’s also evidence of mystery air pollution cropping up in seemingly unpolluted areas.
Others have been prevented from loading saved cities completely or experienced sound glitches.
EA will be hoping that the problems are isolated and don’t point to a wider issue with the update. The last thing SimCity needs at the moment is more bad press.
