Negatron v0.99.4 is released. Negatron is yet another front-end for MAME, the well-known multi-system emulator. Negatron has been first engineered to assist users in managing the huge list of machines available in MAME as intuitively as possible, them being arcade machines, consoles or computers. It has been developed in order to be as much hassle-free as possible, checking for any changed or updated resources automatically.
Negatron v0.99.4 Changelog:
Application:
Fixed a bug where Negatron would crash the very first time it's being launched whereas subsequent launches would get through sucessfully (regression introduced with font management).
Improved user experience by properly displaying when favourites are supposed to be in read-only or edit modes.
Added a bunch of MAME options to the Global Configuration panel, along with a new Inputs tab:
Re-organised options to segragate MAME's input options and put them into their own tab,
Added a bunch of graphical options,
Added tooltips in English for all the options that didn't have any yet (tooltip content mostly coming from mamedev official documentation).
Added Gradle support to release RPM and DEB packages for Linux instead of a simple zip file that can't handle dependencies automatically.
Updated Java to 1.0.8_191 and VLC to 3.0.4 on the all-in-one packs for Windows and macOS.

RPCemu v0.9.1 is released. RPCEmu is the continued development of the popular Acorn machine emulator by Tom Walker. It emulates an Acorn RiscPC and A7000.
RPCemu v0.9.1 Changelog:
User Interface
A screenshot can be saved of the current display, by choosing 'Take Screenshot...' from the File menu.
Entering full-screen mode displays a reminder of how to leave this mode. The message can be hidden by ticking the checkbox.
Choosing 'Reset' or 'Exit' from the File menu will request confirmation before taking the action.
The CD-ROM sub-menu has moved to the Disc menu.
Networking
The EtherRPCEm driver module now works with RISC OS Select 3 or later (4.39 - 6.20).
Networking configuration now requires fewer steps to be performed in RISC OS as a result of the following changes. The documentation has been updated to reflect this.
The driver module is now provided directly by the networking podule. This means there is no need to install the driver in the Boot sequence.
The driver module is now 26/32-bit neutral. This means that there is no need to install an updated SharedCLibrary for the network driver. Note, you may well still need this update for application compatibility.
The driver module now auto-installs AutoSense file in Boot sequence.
HostFS
The Create-Dir, Rename and Save entry points now return an error if part of the path is invalid, instead of saving the file to a wrong location.
Keyboard
Keys can no longer get 'stuck' if held down when interacting with GUI menus.
Other fixes
Some potential crash scenarios when resetting/exiting have been fixed.
Windows
Shift-F10 keypresses are now passed through to the emulated machine, instead of invoking the Windows context menu handler.
If you are using a keyboard layout with 'dead keys' (e.g. US-International) these keypresses are now passed through. Dead keys are used to compose accented characters, and are not found on the UK keyboard layout.
The Windows executable has Data Execution Prevention (DEP) enabled.

Steam's monthly active user count has grown by 23 million in just over a year, according to figures from Valve.
Presented at Melbourne Games Week, it was revealed that Steam now has over 90 million MAUs, compared to 67 million last year.
Valve has also seen its daily active users grow to 47 million, up from 33 million last year; it's peak concurrent users have yet to exceed the 18.5 million record set in January, during the height of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' popularity.
This increase runs contrary to July figures from SteamSpy which showed a drop in the share of active users playing a game at a given time over the same period, from 38 per cent to 31 per cent.
The growth spike is at least partly attributable to the 30 million users in China, up from 15 million last year, according to market intelligence firm Niko Partners.
Steam's unsanctioned position within the Chinese market has only gained prominence in recent months, amid a halt in new-game approvals by the government.

These "digital crates" will contain one "featured" game, which will be prominent in the marketing for that month on platforms such as Twitch, Mixer and Loot Crate's own The Daily Crate. Spotted by Fortnite streamer FaZe Agony, the latest update includes a new avatar which features detailed breast animations.
A spokesperson for Epic told The Verge: "This is unintended, embarrassing, and it was careless for us to let this ship. We are working now to fix this as soon as possible."

The Steam team continues to purge its marketplace of titles it deems to be "outright trolling" with close to 200 games pulled in the past fortnight alone.
PC Gamer estimates that 179 titles have been pulled in recent weeks, including a combination of full titles, games split into separate episodes and some that were simply reskinned and listed individually with new games.
Among the wave of titles removed were seven with the word 'hentai' in the title, as well as the 32 games of the Achievement Hunter series. Other highlights the site picked out include Boobs Battleground, Logan vs KSI, Putin Boobs and Trump, Rich Life Simulator VR, Bitcoin Highway, MILF and Make Border Great Again - none of which are likely to be a huge loss to the store.
The crackdown is part of Valve's continuing efforts to ban developers from its marketplace who are "straight up trolling" - a vague description the firm first used in June when it announced an 'anything goes' approach to curation, whereby only trolling or illegal games will be banned.
Last month, the firm offered more clarification as to what it means by 'trolling' in a post that also introduced the Adults Only filter for games with explicit sexual content.
"Our review of something that may be 'a troll game' is a deep assessment that actually begins with the developer," Valve wrote at the time. "We investigate who this developer is, what they've done in the past, their behaviour on Steam as a developer, as a customer, their banking information, developers they associate with, and more. All of this is done to answer the question 'who are we partnering with and why do they want to sell this game?'
"We get as much context around the creation and creator of the game and then make an assessment. A trend we're seeing is that we often ban these people from Steam altogether instead of cherry-picking through their individual game submissions. In the words of someone here in the office: 'it really does seem like bad games are made by bad people.'

Fortnite attracted more than 78.3 million unique players in August, according to the latest figures from Epic Games.
The milestone was announced alongside details of the wildly popular game's Fall Skirmish. Epic said that the 78.3 million people who played Fortnite last month was the highest since the game first launched.
That huge number will include the game's various console versions, PC and mobile. Fortnite is also incredibly lucrative for Epic on every one of those platforms; Superdata estimated that it had made $1 billion from in-app purchases by July this year, around the same time that Sensor Tower put its daily mobile revenue at more than $2 million.
Since the game's launch, Epic Games' value has soared to around $8 billion, up from $825 million in 2012.
