NeoToxin is a new homebrew game in the making for the NES by Snowbrow and EFX. It's a platforming game that appears to be very Castlevania-like from it's screenshots. It's not yet ready for download, but you can check out some screenshots and listen to it's soundtrack in NSF format at it's homepage.

Xmas has come early as Zinc 1.0 hits us unexpectedly more than doubling the number of supported games. Highlights include working sound and music in System 11 games (a very fast PC is required for this, but you can turn off sound to get your speed back), various graphical fixes such as the story text in Tech Romancer, and more. Heres whats new:
-True ZN decryption instead of ZiNc's old hacks. Some Capcom games may take a little longer to start up than they did under previous ZiNc versions. This is completely normal
-Story text in Kikaioh / Tech Romancer now works
-Support for Tecmo TPS, Atlus PS, Raizing/Eighting PS Arcade 95, Konami GV, and Namco System 12
-Sound simulation for System 11 games, thanks to Team VivaNonno
-Fixed graphics for Tekken and Tekken 2
-MAME-style parent/clone support
-All ROM sets now match MAME 0.87u5 (not a public version)
-CHD support. These may go either in your ROM folder or in a subdirectory of your ROM folder, the same as MAME
What's wrong with it?
-Sound is not accurate in System 11 games although the simulator does an excellent job in many cases.
-Game speed is wrong in many System 11 games.
-Sound is not accurate in System 12 games.
-The external sound board is not supported for the Raizing games, Cool Boarders, or the Taito FX-1b games.

An unofficial version of an unofficial version (is such a thing possible?) if you like, I was tinkering around earlier & thought I'd try my hand at producing a P4 optimised version so here it is, helpfully with the cheat.dat included for those of you that think infinite credits in emulation isnt enough

The more official 32fx has these changes:
-Updated to MAME 0.85 - MAME32 0.85
-Fixed MAME Testers bug Armwrest35b9Yel.
-Fixed Official MAME bug in megasys1.c. (Games have screen flipped)
-Fixed all gfx bugs in Super Dodge Ball (US).
-Improved saving settings of volume adjustation function.
-Improved support for new version of Command.dat.
-Removed improvements in the F5 Key Refresh function. (No more needed)
NOTE: New Controller files are not supported but needed by MAME32FX.
Their handling is still quite buggish in new MAME core.

Another entry in the sporadic mentioning of em releases in here
Emulator MAME V0.85
System PC - Windows
If you dont know MAME by now what rock have you been living under? anyway heres .85 of this excellent arcade emu which now supports 5061 ROM sets & 2851 unique games (unfortunatly a lot are mahjong games, quite like mahjong myself but there can be too much if you know what I mean) so unto whats new:
Driver Improvements:
-Fixed sprite vs. tilemap priority and sprite vs. tilemap
positioning for the*FL games. [R. Belmont]
-Hooked up player 3 trackball in Rampart. [Aaron Giles]
-Fixed crasher in the new Mappy DIP switches. [Pierpaolo Prazzoli]
-Added conditional DIP switch support to Asterock. [Pierpaolo Prazzoli]
-Fixed Superman frame rate to match real PCB. [Robert Flory]
-Fixed sound balance in Bowlorama. [Aaron Giles]
-Added conditional coinage to a number of games. [El Condor]
Changes to the main program:
-Fixed bug with new command line options when using -createconfig.
[Aaron Giles]
-Changed the way the remapping works in the ctrlr .cfg files so that
it works more like the way the old system did. [Aaron Giles]
-Some MESS-specific additions to the new input configuration code.
[Nathan Woods]
-Added sourcefile attribute to the -listxml output. [Logiqx]
-Fixed bug that prevented default controls that were set to "None"
from saving/restoring properly. [Aaron Giles]
-Added feature to the general input settings so that if you hit Esc
to cancel setting a new input sequence, it toggles between "None"
(old behavior) and the default. This is similar to the change that
went into u6 for the game-specific inputs. [Aaron Giles]
-Fixed load order for ctrlr files so that they don't stick in the
default.cfg if you switch between ctrlrs. [Aaron Giles]
-Renamed the paddle/adstick/pedal/dial/trackball/lightgun default
device selection options to paddle_device/adstick_device/
pedal_device/dial_device/trackball_device/lightgun_device to
prevent naming conflicts. [Aaron Giles]
-Added new port type IPT_OTHER to use for controls that don't map
in a standard way. Modified all the Mahjong games to use this
instead of 0 for the port type, and changed the UI to recognize
this and show it in the game-specific inputs. [Aaron Giles]
-Fixed debugger memory access for 64-bit CPUs. [Nicola Salmoria]

Or should that be new(ish)? ElSemi has rewritten NebulaM2 to use DX9 so now we have NebulaM2 v0.1 alpha, heres what you need to know:
KNOWN ISSUES:
General:
There are no options, so don't hammer the "Options..." menu
Sometimes emulator doesn't return from fullscreen (Solution: kill with ALT-F4)
Mipmaps give too blurry textures (bad mipmap level selection)
Virtual On Cybertroopers:
Some near plane clipping problems
Sonic Fighters:
Usual NebulaM2 sticky feet effect (probably DSP emulation bug)
Strange lighting
Virtua Striker:
This game seems to work at 30fps or something, game timer runs too fast.
Indy500:
The track floor sometimes disappear in the curves (near plane clipping maybe)
SGT 24h:
Enter test mode and set control type to A or you'll get reversed pedal control
HOTD, GUNBLADE NY and BEL require that you calibrate the gun before playing!!!!

News that i found over at Emufanatics [br][br] DarkMan has ported over his Nintenod 64 emulation input plugin to work with the Dreamcast emulator Chankast. Currently there is no joystick support but that will be added soon. Here is what he posted about this release.[br][br]When a new version of wonderful Sega Dreamcast emulator Chankast introduced plugin system I wanted to write my own input plugin. Instead of writting it from scratch I used my Nintendo 64 plugin and now, with some modifications, it works with Nintendo 64 emulators and Chankast. So, as of now DarkMan_DInput project is open again and going up to version 3.0 [br][br]Thanks to Keith for the news and you can download this new release from our Chanka Page
