Zotac has announced the ZBOX nano XS - which it says is the 'world's smallest PC capable of delivering a rich high-definition desktop experience'.
In full, it's the Zotac ZBOX nano XS AD11 Plus and it genuinely is tiny. At 17 per cent smaller than previous models, the box is only 106 milimetres wide by 37 milimetres tall.
Inside, there's a an AMD E-450 APU with Radeon HD 6320 graphics processor, which means it can offer Direct X 11 graphics, as well as high-definition content whether online or offline.
It comes with solid state storage, with a 64GB mSATA SDD for fast boot and system response times, and 2GB DDR3. There are several expansion opportunities via eSATA, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, and even a six-in-one memory card reader. It comes with a remote, too.
The nano XS also features integrated gigabit ethernet for high speed wired network transfers, while a USB 802.11n WiFi adapter is bundled for users that prefer wireless network connectivity.
“Size matters when it comes to desktop systems. We are always trying to push full-featured systems into the smallest size possible,” commented Carsten Berger, marketing director, Zotac International. “Our new Zotac ZBOX nano XS AD11 Plus shows that you can pack a complete high-definition capable desktop PC into a miniature form factor that conveniently fits in the smallest places.”
Here's one fixed to the back of a monitor. Pretty nifty, huh?
