US firm to reveals its plans for the living room on Monday
Valve will be making three announcements next week on its plans to take on the TV and living room.
In an email sent to press, the firm said it would be discussing “the steps we’re taking to make Steam more accessiblw on televisions and in the living room”.
The statement also provided a link to Gabe Newell’s recent comments that Valve was set to reveal more news on the long-anticipated Steam Box soon. The first of these three reveals will be made on Monday morning.
Valve’s play for the TV is likely to utilise Steam Big Picture, which was launched last year. The software features a user interface tailored for televisions and gamepads.
With three big announcments set to be made, could one of them be Half-Life 3? There are no suggestions as yet this will be the case, but if Valve plans to release new living room hardware, the much anticipated Half-Life 3 would be a great way of gaining early adopters.
