39 games including Team Fortress 2, World of Goo and Frozen Synapse now available for download
Valve is now enabling all Steam users to access the Linux beta through the digital store.
There are currently 39 games available including the likes of Team Fortress 2, World of Goo, Frozen Synapse, Killing Floor and Amnesia: The Dark Descent, with the library of titles likely to grow over the next few weeks.
It is not yet known however when the digital distribution store will be fully rolled out on Linux, but given the beta is now open to all Steam users, it is likely not far off from a full release.
Valve began beta testing the Linux version of Steam last month by selecting 1,000 experienced Linux users to being testing the store on the OS, and going on to open the testing period to an extra 5,000 users.
“This is a huge milestone in the development of PC gaming,” said Valve co-founder Gabe Newell last month on the launch of the closed Steam Linux beta.
