Urban Trial Freestyle is coming to Steam later this month, its developer has confirmed.
After a debut on PS3, PlayStation Vita and 3DS, Tate Multimedia's Trials-inspired title is now available to pre-order on Steam ahead of its release on September 18.
While its gameplay is strikingly similar to that of the Trials games, Urban Trial Freestyle differs in that it offers two different types of challenge - Time Trial and Stunt.
Time Trial tasks players with simply getting to the end of a stage, whereas Stunt Mode introduces a number of challenges within each level (such as highest jump, most flips and highest speed), with a total score for all challenges provided at the end of the run.
In our review of the PlayStation 3 version of Urban Trial Freestyle, we said: "Once you get over developer Tate Interactive's sheer lack of subtlety and judge the game on its own merit, the real surprise is that Urban Trial Freestyle is actually a decent game.
"Rather than a half-hearted rip-off of an already popular title, it's clear Tate has dedicated proper care and attention to this during its development, to the extent that we'd happily recommend it as an adequate (if not perfect) alternative for PS3 and Vita owners who can't get the Xbox-exclusive Trials games on their own systems." http://www.computerandvideogames.com...ming-to-steam/
