Take-Two has announced that two of its key fiscal 2009 titles - Mafia II and Red Dead Redemption - have been delayed to a fiscal 2010 release window.
According to the publisher, both titles are being given an increased development schedule in order to apply an extra layer of polish.
"Mafia II and Red Dead Redemption are now scheduled for release in the first half of fiscal 2010 to allow additional development time for the titles and to maximise their full potential in terms of the quality of the player experience and market performance," said Take-Two.
Mafia II is being developed by 2K Czech, which was known as Illusion Softworks prior to its acquisition. Red Dead Redemption - the open-world Western sequel to 2004's Red Dead Revolver - is being developed by Midnight Club and Table Tennis developer Rockstar San Diego.
Take-Two lowered its guidance for the 2009 fiscal year when discussing its second quarter results, due primarily to these launch delays.
