We're taking our first look at Sword Of The New World this morning, a Korean MMORPG that's been picked up by publisher K2 Network for a Western release and is due out this summer.
Screenshots focus on the game's Elementalist class, which draws on the powers of fire, ice and lightning to obliterate foes.
Sword Of The New World's fictional story is modelled on Europe's venture to and exploration of the New World, and the game brings something a little unusual to the MMORPG genre via the ability to control three characters simultaneously. Hopefully that doesn't equate to triple the grind.
This mechanic is joined by MMORPG staples of questing, exploration and combat. PvP and PvE fighting is accompanied by arena-based combat for Family vs. Family duelling (i.e. three-character groups versus three-character groups) and City vs. City battles.
Sword Of The New World's been well-received in Korea, but whether it's suitable for a Western palate we'll just have to wait and see.
