At an event in Japan this past week, Sega Japan revealed several new PC titles. Of the five revealed, three of them seem like good candidates for release in North America (with the other two being obscure soccer and baseball management sims), and they are Sega Splash! Golf, The Typing of the Dead II, and Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of Illuminus.
Sega Splash! Golf appears to be the company's answer to franchises like Hot Shots Golf or Super Swing Golf, with frequent appearances by various Sega characters and courses inspired by the Green Hill Zone in Sonic titles of old. It will also support multiplayer for up to 8 players at a time.
The Typing of the Dead II is, of course, the long-awaited follow-up to the PC and Dreamcast original, and will run on the House of the Dead III engine. In the game the player types words to quickly zap zombies, and this time out the game's difficulty will scale to the player's skill level. A two player mode has also been confirmed, although it's unknown if this will be online or not.
One title we know will be online is Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of Illuminus, Sega's pseudo-MMO that's almost certain to see a release here in North America given the success of previous installments. Console ports would also seem likely, but haven't been confirmed.
We'll let you know if any of these titles are confirmed for release outside of Japan.
