Frogster America, Inc. today announced that just three weeks after the launch of Runes of Magic, the Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) that is redefining the standard for free-to-play titles, the company is already expanding the game world with a new zone. The previously announced high-level zone, Ravenfell is now open and available for adventurers to explore.
The newly launched update adds new features including challenges for level 45-50 players in a Caribbean setting, bringing Runes of Magic's total quest-count up to more than 1,600 quests. Additionally the 'Ruins of the Ice Dwarf Kingdom' dungeon will challenge mid-level players, sending them to the forgotten fortress of the Ice Dwarves. Offering something of a change from levelling and collecting equipment, the 'Wind-Runner Races' are already live as the second mini-game in the fantasy world of Taborea. Level 35 and above heroes can look forward to new elite skills which will further expand their dual class abilities.
However, there are features for new players as well. A completely redesigned tutorial eases the path for budding heroes as they enter the game world. The update also optimizes the localization of area, item and quest text.
The new features seamlessly join up with the content that was implemented for launch, such as the high-level instance, 'Kalin Shrine.' There is also a new dungeon, 'Treasure Trove' which is set to appear in the near future.
