Bethesda will announce an MMOG set in the Elder Scrolls universe in May, according to reports.
Multiple sources have confirmed to Tom's Guide that the game, logically titled TheElder Scrolls Online, will be set in the Second Era, several hundred years before any other games in the series and a full millennium before the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It will have three playable factions, each represented by an animal: a lion, a dragon, and a bird of prey.
Bethesda has been recruiting for staff with MMOG experience for some time, though many assumed the studio was gearing up for an online game set in the Fallout universe. Bethesda's long-running legal dispute with Interplay came to an end in December, with Bethesda regaining the rights to the proposed FallOut MMOG for $2 million.
