The PC version of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has been said to in the final stages of development by staff working on the game.
Speaking in the Kojima Productions Alert podcast in response to a question sent in by a fan, host Sean Eyestone said that the slicing, dicing robo-ninja action spin-off of the Metal Gear Solid series would arrive “sooner than you might imagine”.
“It’s in the final stages right now,” he explained.
“You’ll be seeing it pop up on Steam any day now.”
Revengeance, which was originally released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in February to largely positive reviews, follows the previous playable protagonist of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Raiden, as he engages in sword-to-sword combat with a variety of cyborgs and enemies.
Unlike the Metal Gear Solid series, Revengeance is heavily focused on action, rather than stealth, and allows players to freely slice environments, enemies and objects using ‘Blade Mode’.
While the game has been confirmed for a digital release via Steam, it is yet unknown whether it will also see a physical release as it did on PS3 and Xbox 360.
