[h=1]Minecraft sales have topped 12 million copies on PC, Mac and Linux, according to Marcus 'Notch' Persson, the creator of the smash hit.
The total is up from 11 million copies in late June, and takes lifetime sales of the title across all platforms to 33 million, Mojang told IGN.
The Xbox 360 version of the game surpassed eight million sales last month, while sales of the Pocket Edition stood at ten million in May.
An Xbox One version of Minecraft was announced at E3 in June. Building off the 360 version, it promises "larger maps for more complex structures, expanded multiplayer features and enhanced gameplay".
At Gamescom last month, Sony and Mojang said a PS4 version of Minecraft will be available when the console launches in November. The title is also coming to PS3 and Vita.
We said in our Minecraft: Xbox 360 review: "Whether you're mining, crafting, building, or fighting - either alone, or with friends - there's nothing quite like Minecraft. An accomplished, streamlined port that's a perfect fit for Xbox 360."
