Microsoft’s base version of its Windows 8 tablet has already sold out after just one day of pre-orders. Yesterday PCR reported that Microsoft’s Surface RT tablet with 32GB of storage was available for pre-order, costing £399. This version has now sold out.
Microsoft did state that pre-order inventory would be limited, but did not specify a number.
At the time of writing, the Windows 8 RT 32GB version with Touch Cover, costing £479, is still available for pre-order. As is the £559 version, which has 64GB of storage.
Microsoft’s Surface tablet launches at midnight on October 26th, but the initial shipping time for pre-orders has slipped from this date, to ‘within three weeks’ of its release. Meaning those who pre-order today may not receive their Surface tablet until November.
Those wanting to pre-order the remaining tablets can do so over at www.microsoft.com/surface.
