Microsoft releases Windows 8.1 to manufacturers

Microsoft has today released Windows 8.1 to manufacturing, ahead of a general release on October 18^th.
The update to Microsoft’s Windows 8 is supposed to include more personalisation, integrated Bing-flavoured search, new and updated apps, and tweaks to management and security.
A new wave of Windows 8 devices with the new update is due for launch in the autumn – or fall for US readers.
