A sequel to THQ's excellent post-apocalyptic shooter, Metro 2033 is in development - and it'll be in 3D.
Speaking to CVG at E3, THQ's core games VP, Danny Bilson revealed the exciting news that Metro 2034 will make up four games from the publisher to use 3D tech, which includes the original game.
"We're showing Metro 2033 in 3D right now, which Nvidia is showing as one of their key demo products," he said.
"We're going to be doing a 3D version of that on Metro 2034 - the sequel. And there will be some engineering costs there, but that's in our lowest cost centre in the world. Those games are unbelievably reasonable, they're built in Kiev."
THQ also has 3D sequel, De Blob 2: The Underground on the horizon (it's out next March), plus a version of Saint's Row for the Nintendo 3DS.
"Some people were confused about why we'd go into a market where there's only one percent TVs," Bilson added. "It's about a great game and a plus up on the marketing side. We're there at low risk and high quality, but, again, we'll have to see how that market grows and what value is there."
Excellent news then. Metro 2033 owners can expect the game's first DLC pack, which adds new weapons, new achievements and the 'Ranger Mode' game rules, in "the very near future", says THQ.
