Command & Conquer games without legendary supervillain Kane are like the original Star Wars movies without Darth Vader. Likewise, Kane not being played by actor Joe Kucan is like Vader without the baritone voice of James Earl Jones.
Thankfully, Electronics Arts knows the strength of the Dark Side is strong, and today announced that Kucan will reprise his role as the leader of the Brotherhood of Nod in the upcoming Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars.
Kane will appear in high-definition live-action cutscenes throughout the game, which will propel the game's sci-fi story forward. Tiberium Wars is set in the year 2047 on an Earth that has been almost completely covered in resource-sapping Tiberium crystals. With few zones left that are actually inhabitable, Kane leads his army on a quest to conquer the remaining safe zones, and gamers must try to stop him.
Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars is being developed by EA's Los Angeles studio and is slated to ship in 2007 for the PC.
