Defcon developer Introversion has revealed that its next game will be called Subversion.
However, while beans have been spilled on the title, no real game details have been given. In a post in its forum, the dev's explained that it's very, very early days where the game's development is concerned, but has also interestingly said that the project existed as early as 2002.
The game "has been bubbling away in the backs of our minds for years, and has been an ongoing late night topic for us ever since we pushed it aside in 2003", Introversion says.
"In that time it has changed and grown and solidified and matured into something quite beautiful, and we're finally in a position to be able to do it justice. It's going to take us a couple of years, but as a company we're getting bored of keeping everything secret for so long, and the decision has been made to open the process up to the world."
On Tuesday, Introversion updated its forum with screenshots representing "the first weeks work in writing a procedural City Generator", which has had fans speculating as to the nature of Subversion.
The developer is to continue posting forum updates as development progresses.
