A multiplayer demo is in the works for Homefront, publisher THQ has announced.
CEO Brian Farrell broke the news during an earnings call earlier today, though didn't provide a planned release date.
"It's a fairly unusual strategy but where Homefront really shines is the online 32 player multiplayer capability," he explained.
"We know because of our strong marketing campaign that a lot of people have heard of Homefront and we think with this new demo we might stimulate more new users and purchasers of the game."
Farrell also announced that "a number of drops" of "robust" DLC are planned over the coming months but declined to divulge further information when pressed as to what form it might take.
Homefront launched on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 earlier this year, picking up a middling 6/10 from Eurogamer's Dan Whitehead.
"It's a decent multiplayer offering, but is unlikely to lure dedicated players away from the dominant franchises and their enormous and enthusiastic communities for long," he wrote of its multiplayer modes.
According to THQ's latest earnings report, the game has now shipped 2.6 million units to date.
