Here's a bit of news that'll stun you like a blow to the head from a morning star: NCsoft has announced that Guild Wars Factions will be released on April 28. The stand-alone Factions, the latest 'chapter' in the Guild Wars saga, has been whipped into shape by series developer ArenaNet and builds the MMORPG franchise up to a great height with a slew of new content. Anyone keen to stuff their brains silly with Guild Wars Factions info should assimilate our recent interview on the game with ArenaNet's Jeff Strain.
As well as giving us a confirmed release date for Factions, NCsoft has also splurged details on the European Guild Wars Factions Collector's Edition. It's a special bonus edition that's packed with goodies for Guild Wars fans, including an art book, exclusive in-game signature emotes for the Ritualist and Assassin professions, Jeremy Soule Guild Wars Factions soundtracks, Ritualist cloth picture, Factions desk calendar and mouse mat, among other bits and bobs.
Hurrah! For those Guild Wars fans who simply can't wait until April 28 to get their great, dirty hands on Factions, ArenaNet will be hosting a massive beta test event in which all existing Guild Wars players and their friends are invited to delve into the experiences awaiting them in the very mysterious new realm of Cantha. Keep a close eye on the official Guild Wars website for info on events occurring in the run-up to Faction's full release.
