Epic is expected to host a closed beta for Fortnite - its first Unreal Engine 4 game - 'early next year'. So reports Joystiq, which witnessed, during a Fortnite panel at PAX this week, the developer handing one lucky attendee a golden ticket that'll grant early access to a closed beta for the multiplayer title next year - a beta which is yet to be properly announced.Producer Tanya Jessing confirmed to Joystiqafter the panel that "there will definitely be a closed beta," but declined to confirm whether it'll be followed by an open beta for everyone to get all squeaky about. Epic design director Cliff Bleszinski was also reluctant to comment, simply saying such topics are "TBD". Epic chose last month's Comic Con event as the place to lift the lid on its new sandbox co-op survival game, releasing screenshots to offer a glimpse of the scavenging and base-building action.
