Developer opens up late-game stages for players to experience before it goes offline for good
EA’s browser-based MMO Lord of Ultima will shutdown this May, according to the publisher.
No reason for the switch off was offered in an announcement posted on theLord of Ultima forums.
The game’s servers will be pulled on Monday, May 12th, 2014.
Users should be aware that any purchased in-game currency will not be refunded or transferred to other games, and EA has encouraged them to spend any currency before the closure.
But before the switch off, developer EA Phenomic has provided a set of passcodes as a parting gift, giving players the opportunity to experience some of the game’s late stages before it goes offline for good.
The studio is also looking into whether it can progress players at earlier stages in the game to ensure they see the later chapters.
The free-to-play browser game has been playable since April 2010. http://www.develop-online.net/news/e...ma-mmo/0189229
