Dell has announced its new Windows 8 lineup, which includes the XPS 12 Convertible Touch Ultrabook.
Even though Microsoft isn’t officially releasing Windows 8 until October 26th, a number of its hardware partners have already announced their Windows 8 systems.
Dell is the latest to reveal what it has in store for the new OS, with a hybrid laptop/tablet and two all-in-one desktops.
Dell’s XPS 12 Convertible Touch Ultrabook has a detachable screen with a flip-hinge design, enabling users to switch between laptop and tablet.
It comes with a 12.5-inch full HD display, and for its base configuration, you will get an Intel Core i5-3317U Ivy Bridge processor, 4GB of RAM and 128GB solid state drive.
According to Dell, the HD display provides 90 per cent more pixels than a standard HD display.
Dell’s XPS One 27 is a 27-inch machine with HD display which can tilt to a 60-degree angle, designed to provide additional options when using the touchscreen interface.
This all-in-one comes with an Intel Core i5-3330s Ivy Bridge processor, 6GB of RAM, and 1TB hard drive.
Also part of the new lineup is the Inspiron One 23 – another all-in-one desktop. As you can probably guess by the name, this machine features a 23-inch touchscreen which has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080.
Coming with an Intel Platinum G645 processor, the One 23 has 4GB of RAM and 500MB hard drive.
The XPS 12 has a starting price of $1,199.99, the XPS One 27 starts at $1599.99 and consumers can get their hands on the Inspiron One 23 for $799.99.
All devices are available for pre-order now from Dell.
