Crytek has announced plans to launch free-to-play PC shooter Warfacethroughout Europe, in the US, Australia and New Zealand. The near future military shooter is currently live in Russia and boasts more than two million registered users, according to the developer.It'll be co-published by Crytek and online games firm Trion Worlds through Gface, Crytek's social gaming network, and the Trion Platform. The CryEngine 3 title provides players with "a constantly updated" player versus environment universe featuring multiplayer co-op missions and class based player versus player action. Trion CEO Lars Buttler said: "Crytek has repeatedly proven their foresight and they are doing that again by leading the shift towards delivering high-quality, free-to-play, online games. "We are very impressed with Warface and Crytek's commitment to polished gameplay, amazing graphics, technical excellence, and real innovation. We very much feel that we are kindred companies and stand strong together." Crytek producer Mike Read told CVG in a wide-ranging interview published earlier this week.
