Square Enix has launched a new service offering its back catalogue for free to gamers. CoreOnline streams HD full console-quality titles, including Hitman: Blood Money and Mini Ninjas. Lara Croft: Guardian of Light will be coming to the platform in October, and other Tomb Raider titles will be added soon.
“We’re offering gamers the chance to play entire games completely for free. The games are funded by advertising, and users will normally have a choice of adverts to watch in order to earn game time,” reads the CoreOnline site.
Players will earn 20 minutes of game time for each one minute-long ad that they watch. The ads are initiated during the game’s loading time, and CoreOnline insist that they will not artificially increase the load times to accommodate the ads.
Those who really don’t wish to watch ads can chose to skip them and purchase levels or full games.
Game time acquired by watching an advert during any game can be redeemed across any other game available on the platform.
Square Enix’s game streaming platform launches in the wake OnLive having to sell its assets to venture a capitol firm, as well as founder Steve Perlman resigning. http://www.pcr-online.biz/news/read/...-raider/029054
