Treyarch has released the minimum specs required to play Black Ops 2 on your PC, and it looks like Windows XP is out. The Call of Duty community forum has posted everything you need to know about running Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 for the PC.The minimum specs required are as follows, and Treyarch promises that they "have tested extensively on a variety of hardware and we are very confident in the performance even at the minimum specs."
OS: Windows Vista SP2 or Windows 7
CPU: Intel Core2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHz or AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHz
Memory: 2GB for 32-bit OS or 4GB for 64-bit OS
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512 MB or ATI Radeon HD 3870 512 MB
If you're still running your machine on Windows XP looks like you'll have to upgrade if you want to play this one. Black Ops 2 uses the same engine as Black Ops, but Treyarch has made a number of improvements "including performance optimizations, enhanced graphics, and proprietary anti-cheat technology." Treyarch boasts improvement on the way "the engine handles multiple threads," as well as the move from DX9 to DX11. "The DX11 API is leaner than DX9 and requires less CPU time to do the same amount of work." More "quality vs performance" options have been added to further "customise your experience to either run faster or to satisfy your taste in eye candy." You can get your hands on Black Ops 2 this November.
