Uber-violent FPS Soldier of Fortune is blasting its way back onto the scene in Payback for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
You may recall that first rumoured word on Payback hit last June, but the title has now been confirmed by Activision.
The series was notorious for featuring technology that allowed you to blow the arms and legs off enemies, and it sounds as though Payback is sticking with tradition.
Actvision says it features "an enemy damage system that may be shocking to even experienced FPS players." Of course, that's all high octane PR talk.
Anyway, focusing on modern-day warfare, you play a freelance mercenary called Thomas Mason who finds himself in deep shit when an escort mission goes belly-up. We're told the storyline reflects today's trend of 'outsourcing' wars.
Payback's single-player campaign is accompanied by numerous multiplayer modes. The game is due out in November.
